S: pork rinds, peanuts (maybe - I have a 3-hour class this afternoon and always carry a 1 oz. pack just in case I need a snack to get me through.)

2pm -green salad with ranch, sauté green beans in bacon fat, cooked cauliflower with butter, beef stew meat.

Morning: 2 eggs, 2 leftover beef rolls, yogurt with sunflower seeds and berries
Evening: mackerel bread (my invention, canned mackerel and egg baked in a thin sheet) with mayo and olive pate. Cauliflower rice with mascarpone.

B - An hour later crustless veggie/turkey sausage quiche. Coffee with heavy cream/stevia.
S - Zero carb whey protein/iced coffee shake.
L - Small romaine salad w/onion, shaved parmesan, bacon bits, chopped baked brussel sprouts, pork rind croutons, home made ranch.
D - Haven't decided yet! :)

As a newbie, I am very confused about the many posts that refer to keeping calories at a reasonable number. As I read the menu plans for today, so many of them seem to be lower than what is recommended on other threads. Please help me to understand the importance of calories.

Rowief, it is hard to judge based only on what people state in this thread, calories depend on what plan we are following and if we are counting calories at all.
People on JUDDD will do 500 calories or around that on low days, if what you have read here is a low day it will look like they are not having enough.
On the other hand we often do not mention how much oil/butter we use.

Calories are important if you decide to track them, some can comfortably loose even without counting calories and I have done that for a long time but as goal approached it seemed always more needed to start counting.
