Milestone - 75 pounds lost!

I started at the end of July 2012. In just over 6 months, I am down 75 pounds. :jumpjoy: I had been stuck for about 6 weeks at 230 then over the last 2 weeks dropped 12 pounds. This is a great way of eating. I am so happy to have embraced it. My hypoglycemia has been cured. I am feeling and looking so much better it is amazing. I am also sleeping so much better.

I really got motivated to do it after visiting the doctors and having him tell me I was hypertensive and borderline diabetic. I have been trying to get health insurance and none of the 8 companies I applied to would give me a policy because of my weight and related health issues.

I have also lost this weight with little exercise. I was told I was fat because I was lazy. Well I wanted to prove people wrong, so I purposely didn't increase my physical activity. (I have just recently started exercising more because I always have enjoyed exercise and sport.)

I still have about 20 pounds or so to go until goal, but thought I would pause for a minute at a significant milestone. I thought I would share in hopes of motivating others. If I can do this, anyone can. Best of luck on your journeys.

Congratulations! That is an awesome achievement. Inspirational.

Keep us posted on your last leg and how that goes. From what I hear (and am experiencing) it's a new challenge. But you are certainly up for it!

Thanks guys. I can't really believe it. It has been relatively easy. The weight just keeps coming off. I am eating more now than before the program. The key is eating the right stuff.

Congrats on your success Big Stevie! I didn't exercise for the first five months of LCing. Now that I am my weight loss has slowed, BUT my body is changing for the better.

Big Stevie 02-17-2013 10:33 AM

Obviously I would never advocate no exercise, but I would love to see some hard studies that show the correlation between weight loss and exercise. I suspect it isn't as simple as we have all been lead to believe. I wrestled and played football through high school and played ice hockey from 20 to 35. I have always been very active but I still managed to get fat. I know how to train and am very comfortable around a gym. We have been lead to believe if we just worked out harder or longer the weight would fall off. Well for me, it never did.
