A whole segment of Atkins on The Talk....

Everyone in the audience got a years supply of the frozen meals!! Lucky ducks!

princessmommy 02-15-2013 11:55 AM

Ah Man! They are lucky!

lowcarbie 02-15-2013 02:09 PM

Yes, they were lucky, that is a good gift!!!!! I wonder how many free coupons they got for the Atkins dinners!!!! It must have been 7 days multiplied by 3 meals equals 21 multiplied by 52 weeks in a year which would be 1,092 coupons!!!!!!

sweetpoison 02-15-2013 02:55 PM

Was the show any good...

It was pretty good, Sharon was toting Atkins (of course, being their spokesperson and all) and the whole segment seemed a bit "infomercial-ish" but it was good. It may tilt more folks twards cutting carbs and that is good.

Oh no! I missed it. I totally forgot she was going to be doing this. They are lucky. I would love a years' worth of meals!

Most shows you can look up online and watch in segments, almost like YouTube.

I think it was just 52 coupons. One lunch a week for a year. They are giving one package away online, if you go to CBS's website you can enter to win.

I wonder how many of the audience members will eat their Atkins meal with bread and a sugary dessert?

I think it is more likely they would not bother to use the coupons at all.

Or how many will go "OMG, this diet is so unhealthy and high in fat" .... only to skip off to the nearest fast food joint.

I don't know if getting the meals is a blessing or a curse. Have you ever read the list of ingredients? I would have too up definitions of most of the words.

I'm a bit perplexed by the new ads. I have the newest book and follow it and it talks about using the Atkins products in a pinch when you are busy or on the road, etc. but the mainstay of your plan should be fresh meats and veggies. The new ads promoting Atkins make it look like a meal replacement program like Jenny Craig. On the other hand I'm happy that the Atkins plan is getting some media attention.

Just remember not everyone can cook. I attempted to make shrimp scampi a few weeks ago that was so rechted that even the cat and dog wouldn't eat it! It could be used as a meal plan for people who can't cook or don't want the hassle of cooking or counting carbs. I don't see why people should spend a load of money on prepackaged meals sent to their houses when they can save on the shipping and just go to Walmart.

coffeelover 02-17-2013 07:38 AM

That's a good point zombiegoat2000. It will allow even non-cooks to follow Atkins and that's definately a good thing!
