Protein powder without whey?

I've been taking whey protein for years. I'll normally do some empty stomach cardio in the morning, then have a protein shake. My doc told me to quit dairy products, including whey protein.

I miss my Greek yogurt and cheese; and especially my protein shake. Does anyone have experience with other types of protein powder?

I don't do dairy but just started the Whey. No issues so far.

I have tried Hemp Protein Powder before. You will need to add alot of something to it though. The stuff I used came in a big square that looked like a huge brick of hash. (Not that I would know.) It tasted just like dirt.

Egg protein as well, also soy protein. I think Spirulina is dairy free.

I've tried egg white protein powder before (Jay Robb brand) and thought it tasted pretty good.

I used to work in a health food store juice bar and made several smoothies a day...the non-dairy protein that everyone liked best (and we had ALL kinds & flavors!) was PlantFusion Vanilla Bean. Tastes really, really good, and isn't gritty like some other powders...rice protein comes to mind!

There are a lot of non-dairy proteins out there but this one is pretty affordable and, like I said, delicious.

A lot of people use raw eggs for protein drinks.

This thread might have some helpful suggestions:

Check out pea protein powder. I just bought some to cook with, NOW brand, and after reading more about it and doing finger taste comparison with some whey powder I think I'm going to like it. Another big plus is a 2lb container on Netrition is only 16.99.

When I made my own greek yogurt, I drained all the whey out, and no longer got any stomach cramps. It is the only dairy I can eat. Recently, I ound Cabot 10% fat greek yogurt. It is way better than whole milk greek yogurt.

My daughter likes Vega protein powder, sugar, dairy and soy free. She is vegan.

I read that Soya protein shakes are harder for your body to utilise after exercise so I would try the egg powder
