Let's continue to add to this thread

This is a great resource for newbees as well as those struggling to see results, usually by the now-lagging-behind scale trauma we all used to go through. It's different on this go round, folks, watch for the other indications that this WOL is working! It is actually more of a metabolic rearrangement of my body than a weight loss diet.

I'm now seeing/feeling what I describe as 'dimples', indentations where there was a solid piece before. At lunch, found I was playing with my arm just below the crook of my elbow, where it is now indented. My stomach still pouches out in the middle, but the sides of it are indented now. My socks are now pulling up my leg maybe another inch higher. My elastic waist sweats now pull up almost to the bottom of my bra.

What else have you discovered??

When I got to my dad's to visit him after a long while away today, I saw an old neighbor who hadn't seen me since before I started my current WOE... and he stopped me, asked me if it was really me, and asked me if I was modeling now because I looked fantastic. That really made my day

The other day I sat in one of the chairs that have sides to it and the sides used to squeeze against my legs, and now my legs don't even touch the sides.

Oh, I can't WAIT for that day!!! All the chairs in our conference room are like that. It's so uncomfortable and embarrassing to have to wedge myself into the chair every month. I'll be so happy when I can just sit down and stand up without worrying that I'm not going to fit!

because if the waistband on my skirt was stiff enough I could use it as a hula hoop. Translation it is so loose it falls down if not cinched.

That is fantastic! I can't wait to hit that mark. I feel like all my jeans are about an inch too short right now.

Awesome job everyone!

Today I pulled out a gold necklace I have had for years. It was always one of my favorites but as I got heavier it stopped fitting me. Christmas day I tried to put it on and it would barely do up and was choking me so I couldn't wear it. Today, I tried it on and IT FIT!! I have like 6 inches hanging down with the pendant now. It is almost where it should be and that made me very happy.

This one is kind of funny.

For the past couple of weeks, my pillows felt different. They felt higher. I thought maybe I had accidentally switched my pillows and conducted a thorough investigation of all household pillows. No switch-a-roo. Yet when I lay on my side in bed my pillows are definitely higher. Finally I realized, I am laying lower because there is less fat on my hips and thighs!

The pillows aren't higher, I am lower.

I was digging thru some of DH's old clothes a few weeks ago, and when we first got together, he was quite a bit thinner than me. I started trying on some of his old jeans. They fit. Perfectly, although a little long. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep the black ones (I so want another pair of black jeans) because they had so many holes in them. But I did keep an old pair of shorts that fit like a dream. (luckily he doesn't wear shorts so he'll never miss them)

My rings flip around like crazy.
I don't have to heave and hoe to pull my pants up when they are fresh out of the laundry.

I love this thread

I haven't had any crazy aha moments but..

many of my shoes are getting too big to wear
my bras all have gaps in the cups
I've found that my V neck shirts are hanging too low
I can see the bones in my feet - which I wish I liked but it's weird to me because I never have been able to!

I can tell I lost weight because

I have more energy even though I am recovering from a neck and face lift. I had all the excess skin removed that was hanging like a reminder to the old days.

Well,..I probably be sore as heck tomorrow and won't find this at all amusing, but...

Today I was leaving a patients house and I fell flat on my behind!!!! Its been drizzling all day and I don't know if it was something in her driveway, or the the rubber on the bottom of my nursing clogs, but whatever it was,...

I was walking to my vehicle one minute and then next...plop....I laid there for a second and then got back up in one easy swoop...

The first things that came to mind was..

#1, thank goodness for *exercise*!!!, as I'm fit and agile...
#2, Thank goodness I was not my former 330+, self as there would have been no way I could have gotten up off that slippery ground without assistance...

So, as weird as this sounds... for the *smaller-healthier* me!! Oh and other than a little road rash on my left arm, I'm fine,....embarrassed, but okay...

Yay, everyone else!!!

My husband who has lost about 25 lbs in just over a month on JUDDD had just returned from taking our dog Toby for a walk. He came into the living room and was standing there with Toby -- when all of a sudden, his pants fell down to the floor.

He had to punch a hole in his belt to keep his pants up.

I can tell that I have lost weight, because just 3 weeks ago we bought a recumbent bike. I couldn't last more than 5 minutes on it without pooping out. Now I can ride for about a half hour and don't feel winded, even on a more "resistant" setting on the dial!

In the last few years as I got heaver, I lost so much mobility and muscle strength. I felt so old. Now I am regaining strength and stamina. I feel human again.

What a great thread!!!! It should be a sticky, IMO,

because it's an absolute DELIGHT to read and shows us all how many more tangible ways there are to see the weight gone than being on the yo-yo of feelings the scale often leaves us with.

I feel it in my shoes and see it in my midriff. A ways to go there yet, but very noticeable, and again, LOOKS better than the scale shows. And yes, my wedding ring no longer looks like it's strangling my finger.

I've only lost 10 lbs so far, but when you think about what 10 lbs of hamburger meat looks like it's good to know that's no longer hanging on me. Also, I had developed these chubby little mounds under my armpits, and they're almost gone.

Also, I've noticed that some here wait till goal to reward themselves with some new duds, not me---so yeah, I can tell I've lost weight because I've spent more money on clothing. For each 5 pounds lost I've bought a few fresh pretty things, which is SO motivating to me. The better I feel about how I look now, the more
excited I am about how I'll look minus 10 more pounds.

I have to say again, this thread is a gorgeous testimony to the rewards of our efforts, and made me giggle on several occasions. Where else can you talk about things like this? Great to be here.

I had to move the seat in the truck up closer. Not that my legs have shrunk but I guess there's less padding on my rear!

The office chair is more comfy now.

And I can tell in the sex too, but we won't go there!
