Almost 3 years for me and my 16 yr. old son, also.
No falling off the wagon. No looking back. We eat very 'clean' LC. I make everything we eat. If I'm going to be out on a job I will bring my own food in a small cooler. I will NEVER go back to SAD way of eating. ![]() |

11+ years for me. It's the only "diet" I've ever tried that worked so well and that I was able to stick with for the long haul.

2 years here and still love it! I kept eating progressively fewer carbs until my blood sugar became well controlled; currently at 35-50 net, 50-70 total. Never cheated nor had the desire to. Expect to eat this way the rest of my life
Sting, I never measure ketones but assume I'm in ketosis most of the time. My weight is always within 1 lb of goal and lately below goal. |

Most of the time I eat enough veggies and berries so I assume I'm not in ketosis. If I gain a few lbs and need to lose them, I go back into ketosis. As the other women over 50 mentioned, it's a lot more challenging to lose as we get older, so I've needed to get stricter to maintain.

If it feels like a diet it won't last.
Eating this way is simple for me. Effortless. People often think it takes great willpower and sacrifice but it doesn't. It is all the other stuff we allow to get in our way that can make it hard to get to this point. |

ME! I have been low carbing for over a year - I cant imagine eating any other way. When I made goal I tried to add some carbs back in but they were not really as good as I remember them being, and I started to gain. For me, I look and feel my best when I stick to less than 20 carbs.

I cut carbs from about 400g per day to under 100g per day. It took me 4 months to lose 20 lbs & I watched portions carefully. I still eat too much sometimes & gain a few lbs, but seem to be able to lose again if I watch portions. I really have to be wary of that too full feeling after dinner, after a few days it shows up on the scale.

Dr. Phinney has been ketogenic since 2004. He thinks it should be called the 'no worries' diet.

I have been low carb since march of 2011. I do have planned "cheat" meals but these are usually 2-3 times year.

Just over a year for me (13 months). I can't imagine ever abandoning this WOE, since I feel so much better and have resolved several health problems this way.
