Febuary is my 1YR LOW carb update!!

Hello eveybody just wanted to update people on my 1 yr progress and maybe some others this plan works!! One year ago I weight around 235, starting having sugar issues, testerone issues(from sugar issues) and hand numbness (from sugar issues). I already exercise just about everyday because I like it!! So anyway it was hard at first-love me some sugar (was a sugar addict)!!! Trust me it does get easier each day but you still have to be accountible to yourself!! I went from a tight 18 pants XL shirt to a nice comfy 6 pants M shirt and weight as of today is 157. I still have a few pounds to get to goal but I Feel so much better. Oh the best part NO MORE sugar issues which also means no testerone issues or numbness in my hands!!I do have bad days but the key for me is to get right back on the lc train!! Anyway just wanted to share and thank everybody here because this is a great support forum!! LOVE U GUYS!!!

Wow, great work, Jeannie! I hope you consider sharing pictures with us sometime.

From 18/XL to 6/M sizing is wonderful. And even better is the improvement in your health. Super job!

congratulations and thanks for the inspiration....

all my life, i have been up and down, not just with #s on the scale or the tape measure, but also with discipline. Most of my eating went for compensation to soothe stress or feelings. with retirement 9 days away, a great deal of stress will fade away (barring the unforeseen). thanks for this thread. i am sure you look and feel mahvelous. WTG on getting right back on track after slipping off. That is where I find it to be so hard. I'd be where you are today if I could just get back in gear after stumbling. Have you had any periods of time where you almost lost control and started to regain more than a few lbs? What got you back onboard? I'd love to hear more about your story, but I see you're not a big poster.

Pics too, please.

I have not had a long period of going off plan, never more than 1 day. I do think that is the hardest part but I think it is the key. I have read that it is best to get back on plan not to even wait until the next day. When I go off plan and I get my sense back (usually when in a few minutes) I go right back.Trust me I have messed up more than once because we are all human, we will mess up. I will have to try and find some old pictures being bigger I ALWAYs tried to hind from the camera!LOL!

Thanks
Jeannie

Congrats!!!! Those are awesome results!!! Did you stay under a certain # of carbs a day? Also, do you eat the low carb foods like Carbquick and LC tortillas?

I do eat LC tortillas-MAMA LAPAs are the best but not everyday (maybe 3 week or so). I just bought my first carbquick to try. I have gone up the carb ladder-Started at 20 total right now I am around 50 total-I try to stay around 20-30 net but if it is a little over/under it is okay. I do cheat sometimes too so do not think you have to be perfect to make LC work, it is all about moderation IMHO!!

I'm really impressed with your discipline. Yes, we are all human and we all have times when we go off-plan, but how you get right back at it is remarkable to me. I will try and let you be my hero and mentor. I will adopt this same strategy and know that if it worked for you, it will also get me to my goal. Thanks so much for sharing!

I am trying to stay around 25 net carbs and I am still working with the low carb stuff to see how it affects me. (I have learned that over eating on low carb foods is just as bad as going off plan cause my weight definitely takes an impact. ) Glad to know that you were successful even though you had some "not so perfect" moments! Thanks for sharing your story! It makes me more determined to keep fighting for the success!
