Chips and popcorn!
I'm not a huge fan of Chips...but sometimes I think it would be nice to have something "different" on Atkins. I have seen the things where people make chips with cheese on a plate. (There was always a way to make homemade potatoes and/or tortillas...but I didn't do that either...I just bought them)!! Anyhow, I saw these three chips and one popcorn that all look to be LC friendly:

I use pork rinds, celery, or cheese crisps for my dippers. I often make chicken, egg, sardine, or liverwurst "salad" for lunch and eat it with low-carb dippers.

Where do u get ur cheese dippers from? Not interested in pork rinds! I have never met a pork rind that I liked!!!! ;)

I am so on the fence to try stuff from the online places. A few items have caught my eye but I kinda just don't want to try them yet. I got almost 40 left to lose and scared I might like (love) something and eat the whole bag :) but for the future I am going to have to find some real replacements for some foods. I gotta live a bit!

Cheese crisps: I take slices of cheddar, cut into about inch wide/high. I put them on parchment paper and then microwave for two minutes. They become crispy and yummy.

You can also make them with other hard cheeses, or with cheese slices (like Kraft Singles)

I've had "Just the Cheese" crackers and liked them, but they are a bit expensive. They are similar to what you get if you make cheese crackers from scratch (as mentioned on this thread).

I sometimes microwave pepperoni chips on paper towels for 1 minute to make them crispy; they are somewhat like spicy chips.

You can make chips from kale in the oven or buy kale chips (but check the carb counts on the package).

I love thin seasoned sheets of seaweed snacks; I get them at an Asian grocery; they aren't really like chips but they can fill that gap for me.

I used flax crackers (Doctor in the Kitchen brand is good, but there are others) with cheese spreads as a crispy substitute for bread and chips.

If you are careful with portions, popcorn might work as a snack (depending on your WOE and carb levels).

The kitchen table bakers Parmesan crisps are great but a lil pricey...they are a staple in my home.

regular old popcorn with a bit of butter is the one thing I did eat a few times on plan and it didn't stall me at all. of course it was very limited to 2 cups and not often :) but when I had it those few times it was absolutely wonderful.

When I'm really craving popcorn I eat roasted pumpkin seeds I make from our Halloween pumpkins (We always carve 3 HUGE pumpkins). I roasted them with garlic salt, so they hit the same salty, crunchy buttons as popcorn. I take them to movies, too.

I try to save winter squash seeds, too, so I don't run out midyear.

You can take firm tofu, cut it as thin as possible, and shallow fry it in some olive oil. I crisps up nicely and if you salt it quickly and dip it in something (usually I just do mayo or some vinegar) it's pretty good. You have to eat it quickly though, it's not something you can store. Once it cools too much it's less tasty. Good chip substitute.
