What plan are you on ? In my experience it`s a recipe for disaster if you`re thinking about cheat days so early on, especially on Atkins. It isn`t ketosis so much that you have to worry about, it`s the darn carb cravings returning, JMO.

Are you asking what's the longest someone has been in ketosis?

I am not on Atkins but I did absolutely no cheat days until two months in. Now I limit myself to one cheat meal a week. I will probably always do this. This is a lifelong weight loss journey for me.
The reason you do not want to start cheating so early is the carb cravings. Wait for them to go away completely and it seems they are easier to manage. When I eat carbs for one meal I have so far not had any cravings afterwards. It's easy for me to go right back to low carb but might not be for all people. So just watch yourself! And keep at it no matter what. |

Also you will probably not stay in ketosis after a cheat day. Maybe after a cheat meal but don't count on it. I don't use ketostix simply because I haven't found them but I find my breath a reliable indicator of ketosisi o.O

I had an insane 'carb up' last week Tuesday, I mean I ate an insane amount of pizza... I was still in ketosis... well, I say this... but i had ketones in urine - not necessarily truly in ketosis as this could have been the last lot to 'come out', as it were. That said back in for definite 3 days later; i guess i'd have shown signs of being out on the sticks? I agree on breath, for me i get a weirder 'insomnia' where I can't really sleep so well but I don't feel like I need to.
I was in for 27 days, I want to double it this time before I stumble again! |
