Low carb for someone who is underweight / near underweight
I was / am a little overweight (10-15kg). I started low carbing just over a week ago and besides the weight loss the thing I am loving is how its completely changed me. I have constant, high energy all day long. I have a clear focused mind. My mood is joyful 24/7. I used to get stressed and have to go into another room and have a swear when the young kids are at their worst and now I can take anything thew can chuck at me.
So my question is this - Even though we eat basically the same (pre LC) she is one of these people that struggles to keep weight on. Eating the same diet and at twice her size I cannot keep it off. My wife is very keen to join me on LC just for the mood and energy difference but we are worried it will put her somewhere dangerous weight wise. Would I be right in thinking if we put her into maintenance style LC she should retain weight but get the other benefits?
I am 5 5 and weigh 100 pounds. I am technically underweight. But, just like some very average people are technically obese, I dont let it rule my life. I eat three to four healthy meals a day. I have amazing health and feel great.
So, some chart in a doctors office says I am too thin, who cares?
I will have a talk with her tonight and see what she thinks.
