Butchers that supply Organic meats

Have a Butcher about 30 minutes away that sells organic meats Beef Lamb Chicken Pork. Questions is just because he advertises organic does this mean he feeds the beef for example grass only or can he still be feeding them grains.

I'm thinking maybe he uses the word organic because he don't give them hormones but still feeds grains to the animals which really is not organic.

'Organic' may refer to not giving them hormones, but I don't know what that term actually signifies in terms of meat.

I buy grass-fed beef and bison, and you have to be careful that it's also 'grass-finished' because it's easy to claim 'grass fed' for regularly pastured animals--that are fattened for slaughter on grains, fed hormones, etc. during the final months.

I buy online from ranches that offer grass-fed, grass-finished, and humanely slaughtered because, apart from the health benefits, I don't want meat produced by the U.S. feedlot system which stresses the animals terribly.

Short answer- he can still be feeding them grains even though is advertising as organic.

Longer answer:
Here's some info from the USDA about labeling.

Agricultural Marketing Service - Consumers

Ask the butcher. He's obliged to tell you truthfully whether his products are fed grass or grain or a mixture of both. Organic does not connote that something is grass-fed.
