I learned..

that one lick is deadly.

hubby loves stupid Ragu spaghetti sauce. he had that and I was planning on a big old burger and salad tonight.

Stirred the sauce, licked the spoon automatically and WHAM. sugar heaven. I swear Ragu is so sweet like sugar.

I wanted the whole stinking pot of sauce. I was almost ready to go ape!
I liked it! No more. No more. got another spoon to stir and bigger 'lick' this time. oh crud.

got their leftovers in the garbage, got that sauce in a tupperware (and another big lick) and finally that food is gone from my sight.

see. I never thought ONE LICK of a spoon would start my mind reeling like a maniac.

eating giant salad right now

I never expected it. I fell hard. I could have dove in head first. WOW

I am sugar and carb addict to the max. One bite, one lick, one crumb is not acceptable to me. Honestly it scared the daylights out of me. I know I will backslide if I let up and go off course.

no cravings and doing very well BUT ONE MINDLESS LICK and I couldn't believe what it done to me.

Unreal. I just didn't know. it surprised me and now I am locking down the kitchen and getting thru the rest of this day and tomorrow eat the biggest BAB in the world, full of bacon!!!!!

ok now but it worried me alot. I saw the possibilities and I don't want to ever go there!

Beware out there

Yes, I know exactly how you feel. But it is when I get a bowl of ice cream out for DS. I only buy single serving ice creams now. More $$ to buy, but less heartache for me. No suggestion for you on that front except maybe he should help you on spaghetti night. I'm allergic to tomatoes so I don't go near ragu.

Yup, it was one sip for me. I took a sip of sugar sweetened coffee yesterday. I thought it was plain. BAM and cravings galore popped up. I was out of sorts for hours!

It's all or nothing for me. I just have to walk the straight and narrow and not have that one lick or sip.

I think that realizing that sugar is my addiction is the difference for me this time around. I KNOW it's off limits. There is no cheating for me because cheating may equal my total failure. Some may have the willpower to jump back on the wagon but alas, it is not me!

you took the words right out of my mouth. that is me exactly.

I think I could spin into total failure in a heartbeat and then have the attitude of 'who cares' once there.

man I will remember this. makes me more committed not to lick

I have learned the hard way that I can't even lick my fingers when I'm cooking for my kids. I think for me there has to be a very definite line I do not cross. Otherwise it's a slippery slope, or sometimes a high diving board.
