Road trip! Moral support please

So I am going to visit my daughter at college tmrw & Sat. 3 hour drive and then eating out for two days. I am thinking of snacks/breakfast food to have on hand so I do not end upo starving. No fridge in the room, but taking a mini cooler that I can keep ice in.

Hard boiled eggs
Tuna pouch (need some mayo packets)
cheese sticks

Any other ideas? I think the restaurants will be fine - I can stick with salads and steak/chicken, etc. They are doing a mom's lunch for us, but I can make that work as I am sure there will be salad and I can take lunchmeat off a sandwich if needed.

Salmon also comes in vaccuum packs. I travel with almonds measured out into quarter cup portions in baggies, flax crackers, nut butter (and a tablespoon to measure it out), coconut butter, and keep an eye out for convenience stores where I might pick up some cottage cheese or greek yogurt or berries. I like radishes to nosh on, too; very satisfying crunch and hardly any carbs or calories.

Have a good trip! Sounds like you have a good plan, and that's a recipe for success.

Make up some of these: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lo...tein-bars.html

And carry them in a plastic baggie. No refrigeration needed. They're great when the breakfast-bar at the hotel is all carbs.

Beware the "Mom's Luncheon" -- it COULD be all pasta. Assume it will be, and eat something high-fat before hand if you can (or have a high-fat snack in your purse, in case.) Assume the worse, and if it doesn't come true you get to be PLEASANTLY surprised, rather than caught off-guard.

Fresh-ground PB or nut-butter can be useful, too. A quick spoonful can be a lifesaver!
Re-start on 06 Dec 2014, from 224.6 lbs (after some seriously self-destructive, off-plan behavior)

If you are taking a cooler, you could make some little breakfast muffins or a quichey thing and portion them out.

Yogurt, already cooked bacon, precut veggies, some deli meat, even though I don't normally recommend them, a few protein bars/shakes - and if you can't do like Griffin said and make them before you go, just get some Atkins ones (or other low carb ones) to keep on hand. Better to at least have those in an emergency then nothing and eat something bad. You might not lose while you are gone, but at least you wouldn't gain.

Hope you guys have an awesome visit!
