Hi and
Pat!You're surely weathered some sad/hard storms, I am sorry for your loss of your husband, ![]() Ditto me too on this!!!!!!!!!!! "I will begin the rest of my life today. I will not binge, I will not search for any 'new' WOE. I will enjoy the luxury of LC foods each day and speak kindly to myself. I will read here daily. I will encourage others. I will find support in providing support." We need to start a daily checkin for all of us on our ...last rodeo... ![]() ![]() ![]() Good luck!

I really can relate. I have tried so hard too and it hurts when a rebound effect hits between the eyes. I have suffered many attempts at different approaches that boomeranged on me. I lost my husband too, almost a year ago. I think I starved myself at times to try to distract myself with a different kind of pain. I ate too much at times and gained weight. I am so worried about my job. I don't know how long my company will choose to stay in business with declining revenue. It breaks my heart to see that you lost your job on top of losing your husband. That is a lot of loss. I worry about losing everyone around me. It is just too much change. How did you get through it? The board has been great support. I can't always find someone to talk to in my physical world. However, there are always people here, wonderful, supportive people, that care. Don't be so hard on yourself! You are doing great, and I love your spririt!

I have insulin resistance-my posts are biased for this! High fructose diets destroy liver's insulin sensitivity. Glutens bind up insulin and leptin receptors, interfering with satiety. Industrial vegetable oils contribute to inflammation of the liver that is part of metabolic syndrome. Read archevore/Kurt Harris for more info. Exercised muscles will up regulate insulin receptors. |

Hello everyone! I'm new here and new on Atkins. I'm in my 10th week and getting very discouraged. I lost 20lbs the first 3 weeks but I have not lost any since. So 7 weeks ive been stalled at the same weight. I have stayed on the induction (20 Caribs or less) because I have so much weight to lose.(120 lbs) but I'm getting very discouraged ....just wondering g if Atkins REALLY works for those that need to lose a lot of weight...

Looking back at a planner and seeing where I started at in January and then checking with this January it appears that I played around with the attempt to lose weight and only lost 5 pounds for the year.
Recommitting and trying to get my act together. Seeing my failure put a lot of things into perspective. Here I go again!!![]() |

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate the "fresh start" that dieting (and life) can give us. I lost my husband nearly three years ago (he was 46; my son was 5) and I used food as my comfort for too long.
Here's to a new day for everyone ![]() |
