Recommendations for a protein powder
I'm looking for a good tasting low carb protein powder, one that I can cook with and use to make low carb protein shakes. I need something to take to work with me to help me get through that early morning slump! What are your favorites?

I like Designer Whey Protein. It's Natural Flavor is just plain whey powder, No added flavors, sugars, colors, etc.

I've tried many and my absolute favorite tasting is Trutein. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and Cinnabun are my favorites.

We always use Kaizen 100% Whey Isolate. We buy it from costco and its $49 for 4.4 lbs! It is only 1g carb per scoop!

I love the Syntrax Nectar - my favorite is the Caribbean Cooler - the coconut/pina colada flavor is so yummy and tastes great with a little coconut milk mixed in!

In vanilla I have something called MRM Whey all Natural Rich vanilla. It's yum. I've baked with it and I've had no problems.

I like Jay Robb also. It costs more but it's worth it.

Wow, opinions all over the board, but Jay Robb seems most popular.
I recently discovered 365 brand (whole foods) whey protein powder. What I like about it is the fact that it doesn't contain artificial sweeteners, it's sweetened with sweet dairy whey. Stevia is not listed on the ingredients, but I think it has a tiny bit in it anyway. I don't typically like stevia at all, but it's not enough to detect the bitterness. The sweet dairy whey is a natural sweetener from milk sugars, but it's not overly sweet (only 2 g carbs per serving) and there's no bitter aftertaste which bugs me with all the AS. I don't use PP much because I'm trying to get away from manufactured foods, but occasionally I do need some from a recipe and this is the least objectionable one I've found. WF is trying to be competitive pricewise with the 365 brand, so the price isn't too terrible, either. It's competitive with Designer Whey and a little cheaper than Jay Robb. |

I buy it at my local Kroger Supermarket in the Specialty/Health Food Section. They are actually on sale till February I think. Also Amazon should carry it, as well.

Big fan of Optimum Nutrition - both their whey & casein chocolate are excellent-tasting.

I absolutely love Plant Fusion. It is so smooth. Was using Jay Robb egg white protein but switched to the Plant Fusion. Both are good though.
