Maybe I could actually wear a pair of shorts this year.....
Awww, you are very sweet. And you CAN do this! Keep it up!

Congrats Lori! I went low carb in 1999 as an experiment and felt so good that I have stayed low carb - it's a lifestyle for me and I don't feel deprived. It's not low-low carb (maybe between 30 and 50g in a day) but eating clean mostly low fat protein and vegetables. Still keep to low carb fruits (berries) and have added a little bit of Greek yogurt in my protein shakes. I'm over 50 and I stared this journey at 39 - I really think my way of eating plus working out has made this time of transition much easier. Do whatever you can make a lifestyle and feel good with.

Congratulations Lori, thanks for sharing your success and concerns. For what it's worth I think you're on the right track with experimenting to see what works for you and following that.

Congratulations! You are doing fabulously.

You have been good advice about adding stuff back in, but I think I would just ride what you are doing all the way to your goal and then tweak.

I started tweaking and adding this and that too soon and never quite made my goal. I got tired of making such and effort and not getting where I hoped to be, throw in an injury so I couldn't exercise and bam! my stats tell the story. I should have just one back to what worked, but I didn't .

Thanks Bailey, Rosie and Gina. I am continuing in a semi induction mode. I do not get above 20 carbs, but I do add something once in a while a few times a week just to see how it will effect my weight gain. Many times I will not continue eat it. I will just go back to a basic menu, but I at least know if it will be one of the items that will be ok, when I get to maintenance.

It really is a fun experiment.

Lori, from your stats it seems like your goal was 150, but then in your signature it seems to be 128 (I forget now that I'm in the reply window). What made you adjust your goal? If you don't mind me asking.

My initial goal was 150 because that is where my body likes to naturally "settle". However, I am happiest at a fit and slim 128. I decided since I am working out again I would fight my body this time and get to where I wanted to be.
