No wonder you are miserable. I don't think lowcarb per se is the problem, but that your stressed and sick body doesn't want to eat, period. Chicken broth is a good idea. Cut yourself slack on the lowcarb side to eat some carbs like noodles in chicken noodle soup, if that appeals to you. Try to eat small servings of probiotic food like active culture Greek yogurt or regular plain yogurt, to replenish your intestinal tract with good bacteria after antibiotics. Maybe sugarfree popsicles or gelatin or pudding cups would be something you could face. Maybe bring chicken broth to a simmer and add a beaten egg, for egg drop soup and some more protein.
Try to not eat real sugar and sugary foods like fruit juice, since they depresses the immune system.
Stay hydrated with water, herbal tea, seltzer, whatever sugar-free liquids appeal to you.
I hope you feel better soon. Tell your doctor about your difficulty eating. Some painkillers and antibiotics are known to cause nausea in some people; there are a variety of types available, and maybe he could switch you to a different brand that doesn't make you feel sick to your stomach.
I hope you make a full recovery soon.:console:
