we don't have a chain restaurant where I am, but I usually get something called the Double Ultimate Burger from a place called Pedro's. it's two MASSIVE beef patties that are each 2" thick, both slathered in cheese and sauteed onions. also pickles, lettuce and tomato and mayo.
I just get it without the bun and no lettuce, since all that meaty goodness tends to crush and wilt the paltry iceberg leaf they drape on there. it's literally a slab of meat like 6" tall. on a good day I can finish the whole thing with a fork and knife, but can't eat any sides...

There are very few places I can't find something. THe hardest are Asian (Chinese, Thai, Pho noodle places, etc.) because the sauces are so sweet. I am very good at getting burgers and sandwiches and "skinning" them.

Subway has stuffed egg whites? Or are you using them as the "bun" so to say. Why arent you eating the yolks with all the vitamins? |

Can you explain exactly what you order? The subway at work doesn't offer their egg stuff after 11 or so, so am not understanding what to request. Thanks!

Last night we were on a trip, and went to a fancy restaurant. Wife had the seafood stew, and I had the crab cake appetizer. We shared, but after I removed the breading from the crab cakes, we didn't really get enough food.
So on the way back to the hotel, we bought two McDonald's double cheeseburgers and a bottle of wine, and some goat brie. We threw away the buns and had a great meal in the hotel. It was better than the one at the fancy restaurant. |

I also will go to burger places and eat only the burger and pickles (throw out the bun). I do allow myself a little ketchup, even though I know it has some sugar in it, but I put it on myself to really limit it. A lot of the sandwich places will turn your sandwich into an "unwich" or a salad. Today, I ran through Taco Bell and got 2 beef soft tacos. i brought them home and dumped them on a low carb tortilla and added some additional cheese. the tortilla was 4 net carbs, so that might now work if you are doing induction, but I am doing OWL and can do this here and there. One day when I was really hungry and craving pizza, I ordered an 8 inch one with everything and ate every little bit of the toppings off of it and threw out the crust. Hope that gives you some ideas. It can be a challenge. We went to Dave and Buster's while in Nashville and the only thing I could find that wasn't a fortune was some grilled shrimp and veggies. I used to hate shrimp unless it was deep fried, but I thought I would just choke it down. Now, I have a new love for grilled shrimp. Your tastes change on this diet. Don't be scared to try new things.

I'm not too crazy about fast food; but I do love the burger joint Mooyah! I order mine as an "Iceberger" (wrapped in lettuce) and add on three cheeses and so many veggies that my receipt is a mile long.

I'm with the Jimmy Johns - tried the UNWICH last weekend and I was very happy - I try to stay away from burger joints because of the salt content

I know I posted earlier, but I can say I've been going to INO all my life and I know the secret menu and I want to run out RIGHT NOW and get the flying dutchman. Thanks so much for the info on that.
Jimmy Johns unwiches are the bomb. It is barely enough food for me. |

I think for the cheese "buns", you need to use the sliced American cheese from the deli, not the Kraft stuff. They are 2 totally different products.

I make oopsie rolls about once a week. I make 12 rolls where the recipe says they make 6. I pair them in ziplocks and freeze them. If I know I'm going to be fast fooding, I take a pair with me.
There is both a Subway and a Jimmy John's near where I work. |

If it gets crunchy you nuked it too long. You may have to experiment with your microwave. 45-50 seconds for me.

Actually Kraft is perfect. You need "processed cheese" for this. If you use 'real' cheese like cheddar, it will be oily unless you cook it longer, and then it crisps up and ends up as cheese 'crackers.' Last edited by Randy; 01-21-2013 at 08:33 AM.. |

When you get the INO Flying Dutchman, get it with grilled onion. It's a few extra carbs but so worth it! They also have their "spread" in to go packets like ketchup, so if you want it, ask for it that wa y so you can control how much they put on the burger. So good!

At Chick Fil A, I order the grilled chicken nuggets a lot. They don't advertise these a lot but they are great. They look like they slice up whole chicken breasts.
