My YAY for the day!

I had my 2 week checkup today from my surgery. The nurse checked blood pressure, weight etc and I noticed her looking at me kinda weird then looked at the scale again. I kinda gave her a look like "Whatcha Looking at!" lol and she Looks me Up and down again and says " i'm sorry but there's No way you look like you weigh 160!" of course food and clothes added to my weight on that scale since My scale at home weighed me in at 157 this morning ;) she said I looked about 145 to her! I coulda kissed her! ;)
rest of my appt went great too. Cleared to drive, vaccum and light house cleaning and lift up to 15 lbs but to listen to my body!
So all in all a Great Dr appt! And made me feel So good with the nurses compliment!

SO GLAD YOU ARE DOING WELL!

that is so cool the nurse said that. it confirms that people who do LC are thinner and less fluffy than people who lose weight eating carbs in their menu. VERY COOL

I am so glad you told us about that!!!!! You made my day also :)

And THIS is why I don't like weight (or, worse, BMI) as a measure of health or goals.

I'd be perfectly happy to be 160 lbs if I could still wear my size 8s. On the other hand, being the 135ish I am wouldn't satisfy me if I were in a 12 at this size. I toy with the idea of going smaller, but really, I have such a great wardrobe now I don't really wanna. And yes, it is about my clothes and how they fit as a measure of how I'm doing. :D

I Need to remember her compliment! I'm having so much trouble staying on track since my surgery! I couldn't cook for myself the first 3-4 days so I broke down and ate a few sandwiches on white bread. Ugh! Then just ate whatever was put in front of me. Not entirely Junk per-say just not lc. And now i'm trying to get back and Stay on track it's Hard! I'm back to craving sweets when before I was fine with them around me and not even tempted to eat them! God give me strength!

awww, Shelly, i know what you mean. i had surgery in August. my mom came to stay with me, and she has quite the sweet tooth. we had two treats while she was here, and that didn't hurt because they were single servings and i was otherwise on track -- she gave me what i wanted to eat. but she left behind two bags of premium candies. i didn't throw them out, i finished them, and i had beastly cravings afterward. i just kept giving myself a good LC snack like a piece of cheese when i had a craving i couldn't ignore, and i got it back under control within 10 days.

keep praying for strength, hon, and it will be yours.

and good luck in your recovery.
