My stove top doesn't cook quite right. I may buy a fry daddy and try it out. I've been wanting hot wings so bad and my oldest DS absolutely loves them also.

The main reason I liked this recipe was you didn't have to fry them !! I hate frying anything seriously.
I did like the recipe and marinated them in italian dressing and then baked them. Then topped with ranch mix and cooked another 20 minutes . Super easy ! |

I may try baking next time. I just wanted an excuse to use my Dutch oven, which is by far the nicest piece of cooking equipment I own.

You don't have to soak in dressing...you can pat them dry...put on sprayed foil and then bake at 375 till 'done' then pour off the 'juice' (Or save for stock) and then sprinkle with dressing mix, and put back in till 'browned and crispy'.
The flavor isn't there when I fry them and then put mix on. |

There's no package, these are cooked on-site. They're in the hot foods section of the deli.
I got a couple the other day, and they were batter-fried. I don't know if I just happened to get a weird batch or what, because I hadn't seen them breaded or battered the first time I got them. |

Did you ask for the ranch wings? All of my wal-marts here do not bread them.

They are next to the deli by the other breaded wings. They make them there, not pkg.

I just called our walmart deli and the manager said they are 'lightly breaded and seasoned' and they just fry them in the deli, and if I want to 'fry my own' they can be found frozen in a large bag also. They come with a breading that has the 'ranch mix' in it.
Hmmm. So I went to the freezer section and, sure enough, there are 'Ranch wings' and they are breaded..and not just with the Ranch mix. I used to work/manage a deli and I made them using the method that I have given...but it was a very small store, and privately owned...so we didn't have the big fryers like Walmart has. |

I would never have thought of ranch wings!!! I'm going to try that because my grocery store ALWAYS has wings on mark down - which I always buy and freeze until I'm ready to use them.
But - prior to going back to LC they weren't worth the time to cook - now that they are sorta kinda free for all - I'M ON IT FOR SUNDAY! GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

No, sorry!
I am going to make them myself next time. I will use recipe that I found in another post: Marinate wings in Italian dressing. Bake 375 for 40 minutes. Strain and sprinkle with Pkt. of Ranch Dressing (using what you need proportionally). Then back in the oven for 10-15 minutes until they get crispy. |
