There's actually some print-ad weight loss programs floating around here where the "before" picture is people pushing out their belly/standing relaxed, and the "after" is the same people sucking in/clenching their butt. And it's super-obvious that's what's going on. (Each ad shows 2 before and after shots, male and female. "Look! We can teach guys AND gals to suck it in and clench!")

These types of commercials are rampant this time of year as more and more people make the new years resolutions to lose weight. I don't think there is anything wrong in making these, but the weight loss companies are just trying to cash in on our concerns.
They could care less if you lose weight....just buy "our" product!....jerks

What I don't get is why anyone would want to pay money for meals to be delivered to your home or pay $$$$ for pills that promise "Loose 10 pounds in ten days..." ect., when alittle research into LC will give you the same results without spending tons of cash! I have yet to find a diet pill that does anything but make me pee all day!

It's not my first year starting off that way (Some January 1sts were good, some were downright atrocious). But it IS the first year that I can say I absolutely gained weight over the holidays and I don't care! I'm still at a healthy weight, and due to LC, I know how to lose it again if I choose to.

Most recently the most annoying commercial I've seen is for some sort of diet pill. What annoys me about it is that they show all of these women in bikinis in their "before" pictures, and none of the women they show are remotely obese. They don't even look like they are overweight. I wish, when I'd first started, that I could have looked like some of these women in their "before" pics. They look as though "before" they were on the higher end of a perfectly healthy bmi, and "after" they lost to point of being on the low end of a questionably healthy bmi.

I realize that, looking at my stats, that may seem like the pot calling the kettle black. However, my before pic is truly not for the faint of heart, lol. At any rate, I did have high blood pressure, which eating better and losing only about 10 pounds cured. But every pound lost after that has more or less been about me seeing that my weight was really not right for my frame. That's not a health issue, but a personal decision.

I wouldn't mind if the commercial said, "If you just want to look a little smaller in that bikini, we'd like you to check with your doctor and try our product." But it's dangerous for women who aren't even overweight, but may have other health issues, to think the answer is in a diet pill bottle!

And what burns me up the most is that those "before" pictures of normal (and if you ask me, nicely shaped) women are making women and girls who don't need to lose weight at all, think that they do. So infuriating. Sorry for the rant.

TURN OFF THE TV. FOR IT IS ALL MARKETING. MARKETING. MARKETING.

Really GOOD marketing. Making lots of money for the board--the STOCKHOLDERS!!

I have been on the GRAIN/GLUTEN FREE *total elimination, for over a year. Organic since 2006 for health reasons. Just to see if it would help and it did.

I love the goofy yogurt commercial. Yea, right. That particular product is NOT going to help unless it is the ONLY item you eat three times a day. Too much sugar. Too much processing.

Eat PLAIN goat yogurt. No sugar. No over processing. I can never find raw but would love to make my own.

Trust me. It is just a way to hook you in to buy buy buy. Just as they lead our children to want certain foods, toys, etc. It is a marketing tactic. That is all.

Eat gluten/grain free. No synthetics. No preservatives. NO dyes or colors. Greens, veggies, fruits...that will help. You never see ads for pure clean food! Because that won't make the stockholders richer.
