2nd day of induction again. LUV IT!
I am 51 yrs old and Peri menopausal! FUNN!
![]() I lost all my weight on Atkins in the past. Went from 171 to 129. I am not back UP in weight. I dont want to use the excuses of menopause or the medication 'Celexa' that I am on, which I found out is a weight GAIN pill. Right now Im putting all my lame excuses behind me and starting again. It truly feels awesome to be on induction again. I sure missed it! Today is my 2nd day at 20 carbs or less and I feel aweeesome. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! WE can do this. Even if we are retreads. ![]() |

46 and perimenopausal here too. I feel sooooo much better doing induction (second day for me too) I'm much less bloated than usual, it's nice to feel "light".

I've been eating low carb for over a year and a half now, and I can say that without a doubt, I feel a MILLION times better eating this way in comparison to your typical American-style high carbohydrate fare. Congratulations on taking that step to reel things back in.
I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy a huge slice of cake (repeated several times over in the span of a few hours), but I truly feel awful in the days after such an occasion. Weak, tired, BLOATED, gross...the list of unpleasant adjectives goes on and on. I've been eating cleanly this entire Holiday season and I feel bright, aware, light on my feet, and so incredibly perky. The benefits of eating well will always outweigh the fleeting pleasure of shoving your cake-hole with, well...cake. ![]() That feeling you're experiencing will only increase in the coming days. Best of luck, and most importantly—enjoy.

People usually feel the worst at first, so you are off to a great start. Make sure to drink broth or otherwise work a good amount of salt into your food intake, to minimize symptoms of induction flu. And, IMO, the longer you do this, the better you feel. What a great way to begin 2013; KUTGW!

Today is my second day as well. However, unlike you, I have a horrible headache and feel that I am probably suffering from the dreaded "induction" flu. I think that part of my problem was not eating enough throughout the day...

Hi! I will be 51 next week, and am peri-menopausal as well. I thought because of that I could never lose the weight again. My doctor even told me my widening waistline was now permanent because of hormones. Well, when I go for my physical in 3 weeks, I can prove her wrong! All thanks to this WOE.
Even us menopausal ladies still got it!! |

56 here and also past meno. I blamed my increasingly larger size on hormones and while that probably had a lot to do with it so did my large portion sizes and wine! It's not impossible to lose weight at this age!

I'm 51, peri-meno and just got down to a lower weight than I've ever been in my adult life. I had to watch calories more than I did 10 years ago, and I still have a couple of stubborn inches hanging onto my waist and thighs, but they're starting to shrink now. Hopefully, I'll be able to exercise them the rest of the way off this year.

Well menopause is not a big issue for me LOL
but eating lc is. I too feel better than i have in years, I weigh less and do more. I have been fortunate this holiday season that even though I went off plan 3 times, i managed not to go waaaaaaaaaay off. Even my worst slip was with fruit, not processed junk. Each time I was able to lose the weight in a day or two and get back in the groove. I have learned that fruit, alcohol, and dining out are likely to cause me trouble. Good luck to you on your return to the low carb lifestyle.
