Who's restarting in the new year?
Hi! I have been off plan for months now and gained back all the weight I had lost earlier this year. Feel pretty gross all around. Dh and I are looking forward to getting serious about low carbing again.
Anyone else using the new year as a fresh start? |

I feel your pain! I kinda am too.. tried to restart a few days ago.. Ive been eating better but still struggling.. Going to go shopping tomorrow and restock EVERYTHING and get rid of all of the junk because I cant do this anymore. I was literally 2-3 lbs within goal and had a 'cheat day' for my birthday in Nov, and it was all downhill from there. I changed my start date also... hopefully this time I can get my butt back in shape for good and summer time bikini issues wont be an issue at all! My bf has also committed to get in shape with me for good this time (me and him have a bad habit of drinking alcohol and going to yummy, off plan dinners)
Good luck to you and your dh! I'm glad to know there are others starting on Tuesday also! Lets do this!! ![]()

I'm restarting today. My weight, skin, health is out of control. It's something I've been in denial about for years.
I also have a thyroid issue that I'm trying to heal myself. I'm not taking any meds so wish me luck. Been over to the induction thread where they have "food porn". Helping me get pumped up for this |

I'm still doing fine but my sister and her husband are starting Atkins 1/1/13. They both have a good bit to lose, so they called me for advice, and I said "Read the book", but neither will read the darn thing! My sis's diabetic husband "did Atkins" some time ago when he was pre-diabetic, and feels he can have potatoes and rice after induction. Also thinks he can have potato chips DURING induction, as long as he eats only 2 or 3. I begged them to PLEASE read the book.
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking they will be among those people that fail to lose and then say, "Low Carb doesn't work". The're already saying, "I can't live without this food, I need that food". I said, "You want an all you can eat of anything you can eat diet. Well, you're already on that. How is that working for you?" |

Every year at this time I get calls from family and friends about how to do low carb - and I say read the book.... But they won't and therefore don't understand the logic behind it. It's frustrating and I end up saying do whatever you can make a lifestyle - this works for me but it might not be for you. I've bee low carb since October 1999 and am at my "normal" weight but that's because I LIVE low carb.

I'm not sure if this counts as restating, bc I've been 2/3s on plan since a cheat day on December 16. How craZy is it that one cheat day can throw me so much?! Regardless, I'm back to plan for the past 3 days. Makes realize once again how much better I feel when I stick with this! Trying to workout the 3 lbs I'm still up from the 16 cheat. Grrrrrr!

ME! I restarted this morning. In 4 months I've gained everything I lost in 2012 plus 10 lbs., a total of about 35 lbs. To be honest I've been on steroids and antibiotics for over a month so I hope not taking those helps too.

Restarted on the 26th after eating like crap for days! Planning on staying on track thru New Years ; getting thru the " induction flu " isn't fun .
Loss girl I love your comeback line about the eat ALL diet. My sister really need to lose about 150 lbs but her doctor told her years ago that Atkins wasn't good for her. And being that overweight is?? Gave her my Atkins book months ago but she hasn't even looked at it. Yet her health problems keep adding up. Frustrating ! |

I must confess though...every single bite of cake, cookies, and candy was a glorious stupendous heavenly carb high!
Ok, enough with that...back on track! |

I had 2 cheat days. Not too bad but overall with extra LC treats I went from 142lbs to 148lbs. I'm been sitting at this number for 3 days and restarted induction yesterday. SO excited to get to goal by Valentine's Day!

Yes I'm in the same boat as many of you. Last years holidays, I felt great. Everything was going great and I stayed on plan, even lost a few lbs. But 2012 pretty much sucked for me and I started eating more and more carbs. I'm too embarrassed to say how much I've gained, but I'm determined to get back on plan and lose it (again).

I'll be doing strict induction as a change of pace, plus I'll be getting the ketosis strips again. I didn't gain all that much back, but it's all concentrated in the hips which makes fitting into a lot of my clothes difficult.

Oh yes.... I am..... I have gained back 13 (or more) of the 33 I just lost..... I am such a lump!!! I feel so crappy.... my ankles and legs are hurting again and I just want to sleep. Now I know some of it is the weather around here..... but mostly it is the utter garbage I have been eating.
I am part of a challenge starting up tomorrow on the challenge board. I am sure you are more than welcome to join if you want. It is called Sexy by Summer 2013 |

Im not restarting but I am gonna tighten up my diet allitle bit. What I love about this WOE is that you never really have to restart all over from the begining, just at the next meal!
