This is a website I use a lot for all kinds of info - carbs, protein, fiber, fat, etc. Show Foods
If you go to the above link and type "egg" in search box you will see a selection of eggs - raw, cooked, different sizes, different kinds of eggs like chicken, duck, etc. There is also a post at the top of the Main Lobby here on LCF which takes you to "Tools" where you will find a carb counter that is provided by LCF. Hope this helps |

For some reason 0.6g carb per egg is in my head, but I always count them as 1g each - that's for a hen's egg, and I usually eat duck eggs, so am probably about right, but am a bit vague when it comes to counting, anyway

It depends which Atkins book you are using. I count eggs as 1 carb because I used rounded numbers and they have .6 each (rounds up to 1).

According to ******, it's about a half a carb per egg. Considering that you can get into ketosis really fast by eating nothing but meat and eggs, it can't be very much.

LESS than 1 carb. I count as 1 carb. Eggs are great on low carb diets!

According to the carb counter in the back of my DANDR book, an egg has 0.6 carbs

i wonder how many carbs in a humming- birds egg?
Perhaps it depends on which tune she is humming. but I always count 0.6 grams per hen egg, unless it comes from Miss Prissy, I allow 0.45 grams, grams that is. As i rarely eat more than 2 eggs in one day, it doesn't matter to me. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I think you are way overthinking this! Pick a value and go with it.... you aren't going to ruin a lowcarb diet because you ate an extra egg or because there was one more gram of carbs in your egg than you realized.

I kind of count them depending on how many I've had. 1 egg = 1 carb, 2 eggs = 1 carb, 3 eggs = 2 carbs, 4 eggs = 2 carbs, and so on.

The reason you see all the different counts is twofold: There are different sized eggs, and some preps have things other than eggs in them.
One large raw egg has 0.6g of carbs, but many people eat extra large, or jumbo eggs. If you add milk to scrambled eggs or omlets, like lots of chefs, there's more. And IHOP adds pancake batter to theirs! All of this leads to different counts. |

I don't round up w lg eggs.
As a hearty eater and very metabolically resistant, every carb counts, and I like knowing 3 eggs is only about 2 carbs, vs being 3 carbs for those of you rounding up--makes a difference for me. |
