I tried the new shrimp one. It was decent. I guess I might buy it again for something different. The pot pie is still my favorite.

Ugh, just TRIED to eat the orange chicken. Blech. Smelled funny in the microwave, smelled funny coming out (like the orangy dawn dish soap?). Took one bite and the the rest in the trash.
Oh well, I've liked some of the others.

Hmm, maybe it's a good thing I can't find the orange chicken in the stores lol
There was one other store I was going to check today since I still have the coupon. Also, on the packages of shakes my hubby buys there is sometimes a coupon so I will check. My favorite Chinese food is Orange Chicken with broccoli so I guess I thought it would kill my craving for Chinese food (fat chance!!)!!

For those of you who use coupons and have a Publix in your area. The Atkin frozen meals are on sale for buy one get one free. I had $2 of one coupons which made the free at the register since they are normally $3.99 a piece.

I've tried two of the new meals. Didn't really care for the orange chicken. Like the sesame chicken and chicken marsala I found it a bit too sweet for me. Plus I didn't really want to eat the edamame (soy) so that left out a lot of the meal. I liked the shrimp scampi, but found the pasta unnecessary. I try to avoid grains but I'm not super strict, however I would feel better about this meal if there wasn't pasta in it. I guess I can just not eat it next time, there weren't too many pieces anyway. Other than that it was very tasty.

Walmart has what appears to be a national or at least regional ad with the meals on sale for $3 each right now, breakfast meals are $2.50. Plus they are advertising the vanilla and chocolate advantage bonus size shakes, 6 shakes for $5.78. I have a number of $1 off coupons so I am going to stock up today (I drink a shake every day for breakfast).

I know if I lived near a Walmart I would probably try them all. The Stop and Shop I go to has a limited selection. I never saw the mexican chicken. I'll keep looking.

I liked the beef merlot and the alfredo for a while, then I have to say, longer and longer on plan I didn't like the quality of the food as much. in the beginning of lc time for me they were a lifesaver. helped to have something quick when I just didn't know what to eat. Now that I am more set in lc ways and what to grab on the go, I just don't buy them anymore. but I tell ya, they helped me thru the beginning of the plan

Beef merlot is still my favorite. I wanted to like the scampi but it tasted oddly sour to me

I've tried a few but there isn't much of a selection at my store. I've tried the crustless chicken pot pie, farmhouse scramble and beef merlot. The only one I hated was the beef merlot- I was just really grossed out by the flavor. Oh well. It's not something I want to make a habit of but nice to have a quick option that's low carb!

Ok reviews:

Orange Chicken-It's pretty good. BF likes it also. It's not my favorite, the orange flavor is very strong, but it's pretty good.

Shrimp Scampi-I liked it a lot. Much lighter than most of the meals. Bf said it didn't have much flavor but I thought it did. I like garlic a lot and it was pretty garlicy.

Mexican Chicken-I haven't had it but bf said it was really good.

Swedish Meatballs-I hated it. Won't buy it again. I also don't like the Meatloaf so it may be a beef issue. But it had a lot of mushrooms (I like mushrooms), so does the meatloaf and chicken marsala and I don't like any of those, so maybe it's the mushrooms?

Steak & eggs-Bf said it was really good.

Bacon & eggs-Bf said it didn't have much flavor probably won't buy it again.

Chicken pot pie is still my favorite.

Walmart has brought the price down to $3. Much more in line with the other meals of similar size. Has anyone seen the contest to get a years worth of Atkins coupons for frozen meals or shakes? I signed up. You should look on FB if you like them enough.

I've been eating them while I'm sick to break up the meal monotony. I still like my homemade soups better but these are nice in a pinch, a lazy pinch!

Metqa-I noticed the "sale" was still on for this week on the Atkins meals. Did they change the price for good? That would make me really happy. $4 is so expensive.

I dunno if it's a sale, but yeah $4 is kinda expensive. Kroger put the "on sale" for 3.50, but Wally is supposed to be lower in general.

Well I got them last week for $3 but they are still on sale for $3. My friend is a manager at Walmart so I have a call in trying to find out lol.

We only have Walmart here and one other grocery store and no stores but Walmart carry them -_-

Yeah, they are on sale at my Kroger 2/$6 and I have a few coupons, but they no longer have the package with the coupons on them! LOL

I try to save my coupons to buy the ones with coupons so I get double benefit. I buy the shakes and the coupons help with the cost of that. I don't buy the bars, waste of money for me.

i've had to use the frozen meals lately since my stove/oven is broken!

I wanted to like the frozen dinners but I just don't. I always find that the texture and taste is just off somehow and the portions are so very small. If you like them, do you tend to like frozen dinners in general?

I don't tend to like frozen dinners at all, but I was shocked at the Atkin's meals. They aren't just slop thrown in a container, they are well put together, flavorful, and surprisingly filling.

I saw on of my favorite frozen meals in Lean Cuisine, it is steak tips and portabello mushrooms in sauce with broccoli, it costs $3.20 has 180 calories, really small. Compared to the Atkins meals, it's only half the size.

But Atkins doesn't have steak tips yet, so I'll keep waiting. They still aren't worth $4.50 to me so I only buy them on sale and only when there is an added value coupon inside.

However, I think I shall have one for lunch today. either that or deli meat ( stove is broken still)

My favorite meel is the Beef Merlot and the egg meals for breakfast. My least favorite is the shrimp scampi. It had a fishy smell to it as well as in the kitchen (shrimp shouldnt smell like fish).

To be honest I think these meals should be used only if you have no time to make anything else and don't have other foods available. They made me feel very full like had eaten a bunch of carbs. I know they're only about 7 grams but processed foods should be used only on occasion.
