Blabbermouth!!!

Thanks Susan. I haven't really liked most of the ones I tried but do like the farmhouse scramble and beef merlot. Nice when I don't want to cook or am feeling too hungry to wait for something else.

I live in northern Virginia and I had been regularly looking for them in my local Giant grocery store. I finally saw them today! Very excited as that's much easier than going to Wal-Mart for me. They even had more options at Giant!

So, if you have a Publix - make sure you look around the frozen food section because they may be scattered!

On the Atkins website there is a "store locator" you can use to see where to find them in your local area. Just tried it again for the first time in a few weeks and it says they are now at my local grocery store in addition to Walmart!

Well, I guess I won't be trying them for awhile, as they are only available at Wal-Mart in my location.
No big deal, I was just curious to try them. |

Have tried several and they are good. Not planning to make a habit of them. But good for occasional lunches. Small in size, but my lunches tend to be small on work days, so they work out ok.

Yep. Found them at my Giant store yesterday. They were $3.99 a piece. Good to know if I run out of my stash, but too expensive to stock up there at that price unless they go on sale.

Found them in my local Stop and Shop...I really want to try it but i can't find a coupon online and I don't want to spend $3.99. I will wait and maybe they will go on sale some day!

Wow they are $4.99 at my store. I tried the turkey one just to see. OK for a quick meal on a tired night but way too expensive. Will keep one in the freezer for busy days but won't have them often.

I just tried a couple of these within the last week along with the peanut butter cups, chocolate coconut bar and the caramel chocolate nut roll. The Italian Saugage Primavera was really good and the Turkey with Herb Pan Gravy was OK. The turkey had a bit of grizzle and fat on it which is why I'm not raving about it. But I would definately eat these again. The peanut butter cups and chocolate coconut bars were very good. Almost too good! But at 160 and 170 calories for a small sweet treat, that's quite a bit and I will keep these for emergency situations when I'm out running errands and can't just stop for a cookie or donut. So I'm moving them to the car. The caramel chocolate nut roll was good when I was eating it but I think it has a slight after-taste. This is sold as a snack/light meal. Compared to the other two treats this was more filling but at 180 calories and 20 grams of carb (3 net) I'm not sure how I'd work this in. I usually eat no more than 30 total grams of carbs per day, most of which are fresh veggies. Still, I'm pleased that these are available.

I bought 2 at Wal Mart: The crustless chicken pot pie and the southwestern breakfast bowl. I haven't tried the breakfast bowl (because I'm not sure how I feel about frozen eggs), but the chicken pot pie was really good! Way better than I anticipated. It was filling too.

My local Giant Eagle (which I never go to) has them now and they are on sale this week at 2 for 7.00..... they will be 4 something after the sale... which is way higher than Walmart but they did have the whole selection..... picked up some Chili since I have not seen it at Walmart yet.

I'm thinking they might eventually go on sale at Stop&Shop because they frequently have the atkins bars and shakes on sale. If they are something like 2 for $6 or buy one get one free I might try them. The one with the beef and veggies looked good.

I cannot believe anyone likes these meals
![]() I think they're truly unappetizing both in texture of the ingredients and the taste. The broccoli chicken al fredo is particulary disgusting. I had a couple of friends try them to make sure it wasn't just me. Everybody refused to eat them We literally threw them all in the garbage. |

KellyJef, I guess if one doesn't like frozen meals they won't like these either.I found them to be the same quality as other frozen meals, and that is a unique taste/texture, etc.
My own home frozen meals taste different after having been frozen and thawed so I know that is it not the same as a fresh cooked meal. but as MsWoods says, to each his/her own, and if you don't like it, that's okay. You'll probably save lot's of money by not buying them, LOL. I do have a question though, do you usually like frozen meals from the supermarket? If so , what brand and what meals do you find particularly good tasting? I'm looking for ideas to make my own versions of frozen meals and any that you think are a good blend could be added to the "potentials" list.

I just got some at the Publix buy one get one free. The beef merlot is good, the portion is small but I liked the flavor, it has wheat. At full price they are too costly for me but on sale I will stock up on a few.

I checked out the Atkins web site and then checked out the nutrition facts of a few frozen foods. I was surprised at the amount of salt with no potassium. Their shakes do balance the salt with potassium.
When I had bought Mrs. Callender's frozen meals, they have started to add potassium. BTW, this is before I started Atkins Induction. But I do think there are companies that are trying to take into consideration the results of high salt. ____________________________ Keep your eye on YOUR goal and you'll way more easily navigate around the discouraging obstacles. ___________________________ KEEP MOVING FORWARD Sharon ![]() |
