Does LC make anyone else feel..antsy??

Every time I'm following my carb limits and exercising I start to get antsy.

Is this the increased energy I've been hearing about, because I think I've got more adrenaline pumping through me now than I ever have before!

I'm not sure this fits in the "antsy' category, but I find myself waking up MUCH earlier than I used to, or really want to, like 4:30 or 5:30 a.m. many days. Once I am awake, that's pretty much it, I have to get up!

Same here - I'm super hyper active now! Which can make me a little bit more on the aggressive side!

Not antsy, but grumpy, totally utterly GRUMPY! The last 2 times I did strict Atkins within a week I was barking at the kids and husband for tiny little things that would normally have never bothered me. Within 2 days of eating more carbs (60 plus) I was back to my sweet, even keeled self.

I'm now doing JUDDD combined with low glycemic foods and have been non grumpy for a long time.

I totally know what you mean! Especially if I take a nap in the middle of the day, I wake up angry with adrenaline sputtering in my brain pan like hot fat. My brain is yelling at me for not getting up and using my energy for something productive I guess!

No. But coconut oil (and coconut cream) will definitely do that to me! Did so today, and I only put 1 tsp. in my 2 coffees this morning. CO revs up metabolism. I make sure never to consume either coconut product after 4 pm or it can keep me from going to and staying asleep.

I get the same thing from time to time. I think it is the increased energy for me. I've noticed I'm a lot more sensitive to coffee too. I used to be able to drink 3 or 4 big cups a day and not notice too much difference. Now I have to be careful. 20 oz. in the morning keeps me wired all day it seems.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes I've definitely noticed I get way more wired from coffee - I love it!

Lol. Me too, unless I go overboard. If I have 2 large coffees right after each other I get shaking so bad it looks like I'm detoxing

Yeah, it's probably because we don't have the bread-y carbs in our system to suck all that up!!!

I get antsy too, i have to make sure i eat brunch or it will transform into alcohol cravings... its very strange because when im not on LC i never get the craving for wine or any alcohol. i know that its a blood sugar thing and probably my body wanting a "depressant" as well... but its a slippery slope. My best friend has noticed that happens to her sometimes after she has been in ketosis for a few days too.

I had to switch to decaf coffee when I started low carbing (which is fine with me because I don't think too much caffeine is great for our adrenals anyway), but a little bit of caffeine now really affects me. I don't like the shaky feeling at all. And I'm in trouble if I have any caffeine after 12:00pm or I can't sleep until after midnight now! Yikes!

oohh yes! I def. have this when I say for instance run on my treadmill for a few miles.
When I first started lc, I had that euphora (sp)? that you are supposed to get from induction, it scared me to death lol! I never had THAT kind of energy in my life like I did then. Hubby said he wasn't used to me being that way lol! one a good note.....tmi....he was never turned down , and it was a few times a day, if I could..(time wise), he said he wasn't used to me following him around sniffing LOL!

Before I went LC, I relied on carbage as a pacifier. It manipulates serotonin and dopamine, like other addictive drugs. After about five months LC, I began attending Overeaters Anonymous meetings to help manage my anxiety. It wasn't that LC made me anxious, as much as I didn't experience the full effect of my baseline anxiety until I stopped doping myself up with carbs.
