Today is...

... my one year lowcarbiversary!

I am happy to report that I haven't "cheated" a single time. There were days where my carbs climbed a little higher as a result of a condiment or just eating a too big a portion, but other than that nada. I feel happy.

The overall result is around 35lbs lost- unfortunately most of it during the first six months- lately I keep gaining and losing the same 5-6lbs.

Anyway, just wanted to share

Oh maybelle! that is wonderful. I have just had my two month anniversary ... no cheats! I lose very slow, too, so if I can do 35 in a year I will be a happy camper too! Keep up the good work!

No cheats in a year???? EXTRAORDINARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you obviously have been maintaining LC throughout, do you think that your calorie intake has increased over the last 6 months? What do you feel has gotten in the way of your great results for the preceding 6 months?

Hi Abby!

Thanks! I do think that portion control is a huge part of my issue. I think that my portions are still too large, which results in higher calories. It's something I've always had issues with but don't really know how to deal with. I keep portions small-ish for a few days and then I have a ravenous binge of allowed foods. What's terrible is that I realize what I'm doing but just don't seem to be able to keep myself in check. Ah well-can only keep trying.

Thanks, maybelle. I hear ya!!!!!!!!!!! I've gained weight many times on only "allowed" foods. Maintaining LC is only half the battle. I'd set a maximum daily calorie intake for yourself and try to stick with it.
