What keeps you on track?

For me it is bacon, sausage, and eggs in the morning, coconut oil in my coffee, and coconut bark kept in the freezer.

Breakfast and the coconut oil in my coffee keeps me from feeling hungry and snacking on high carb goodies at work.

I think keeping coconut bark in the freezer has been the best thing. Knowing it is there keeps me from indulging my sweet tooth while out and about, and when I'm feeling "snacky" a little piece just hits the spot. Currently experimenting with adding things to the bark (the original was so good I didn't want to mess with it for the longest time). The batch cooling right now has unsweetened coconut and macadamia nut pieces. I can't wait.

So what keeps you on track?

Bacon and eggs for breakfast. Rib-eye steak for dinner. And all of the other wonderful, healthy food choices we get to have.

Unfortunately, I seem to fall off the wagon every holiday

My mindset.

I am not on a diet. I am eating foods that are healthy for me & plan to continue doing that.

Remembering how I felt when diligently counting my calories. Always hungry and obsessed with how much more I got to eat before the calories were gone.
Love the constant feeling of satiety (is that the right word? Too lazy to check) yet I still always end up below my calorie count! Amazing!!
That and my tummy being flatter!

Feeling so much better--more energetic, sleeping better and waking up more easily, not having acid reflux and digestive problems, feeling more comfortable in my somewhat smaller body, having more even moods and not getting angry or upset easily. Even if I didn't lose another ounce (though I hope I do), I'd keep eating this way to enjoy my life more and be healthier.

I have been struck by how creative lowcarb cooks have come up with lowcarb substitutes for practically every highcarb food we used to enjoy: stuffing, pizza, cakes, cookies, etc. I don't know if your holiday celebrations involve eating food cooked by other, non-low carb cooks, but maybe you could make a project of searching out low-carb version recipes of your traditional holiday dishes, if you are the cook or can bring along dishes to pass. I know that eating off plan at holidays is something that I worry about, too, and I've scoped out some recipes to make and food to bring for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with friends and family (even though those are several months away).

Sorry to veer off from the OP's original question ...

I stay on track thinking about buying cuter clothes and being able to eat so much food. Oh and of course blogging on this site. When I had a loss this morning this site was the first thing I thought of I feel better Im not hungry. I dont know what took me so long to get with the program.

I started Atkins for my health issues and I'm so happy that I did so! I don't think of this as a temporary fix - this will be my WOE for the rest of my life.

During my past year on low carb, I've felt better than I did on my 35 years of a typical western diet. No allergies, better sleep, no digestive issues, better energy - these things give me a lot of incentive to stay with this type of eating.
