Has anyone tried B12 injections while on LC?
Im considering doing this. I have the foods down pat. I dont have any cravings and am fine with what I eat. I have heard a lot of success with the B12 or Lipolyne (sp?) injections. The downfall for them seems to be they put the weight back on when stopping, but if your eating habits are good then maybe that wouldnt be an issue?
Anyone ever done it? |

It's interesting that you brought this up. A guy friend of mine, who isn't overweight, recently told me that he'd started taking B12 sublingually, and was strangely hungry all the time. He sees a direct correlation. (I thought, "count ME out!")

Sublingually is better then pills, but yes the injections are better.
I just got my first one. Not for weight loss but to get my energy back. I gave up caffeine, all caffeine 2 months ago and I work 3 jobs and I'm just always drained. I talked with the Naturopath who gave it to me, she said it last about 3 weeks, but if you want it for weight loss you need to get one every week, so it will build up in your system. And that's when you'll really start to notice a difference. I bought sub pills a few days before I got the injection, she also said it was ok to keep taking the pills even with the injection, because B12 is water soluble so if you're getting too much you'll just pee it out.

I did a B-12 shot weekly for 3 years and did not see any weight change. My levels were very low at that time. My husband gave me the shot in my arm muscle. The cost for the script was only about $7 a month.
I switched to the sub-lingal for awhile. After going low carb a few years ago my levels are fine now so I don't take any at all. All that yummy meat is working!! Watch the ingredients if you decide to do the chewables. Many have sugar alcohols as flavoring. |

I did an experiment not long ago on this subject.I started taking B12 with all my other vitamins. After a week I was getting So HUNGRY about an hour after I had taken my vitamins I just wanted to eat all day nonstop. So, a friend told me it was the B12. I decided to stop taking it for three days and see IF this was it. Sure enough it was.I know only take it once a week. This seems to work for me. I have a friend that was taking the B12 injections. She said she would eat nonstop for days after having one. After she had gained 25 pounds in two months she quit the injections and lost the weight very fast.JMO. HTH.

Injections did nothing for me. I used to take it during my low fat days when I went to weight loss clinics. The weight loss I had back then was due to the ridiculous low calories I ate while being on prescription appetite suppressants not due to the shots. When I took the shots by itself no weight loss and when I took it with pills it did not speed up weight loss.

Wish I could get them.... no doc here seems to be interested in giving you the injections.... except the weightloss clinics and you have to do their program which I am not interested in.

The weight loss clinics here are $15 per week or $25 if you go every other week for the Lipo/B12 combo shot. The also said they could call in a script after the $19 consultation and have my PCP or a friend who can give injections give it to me. I meet with my PCP tomorrow. Gonna see what he thinks about it.

After just one shot I notice a different in my energy and stress level. Nothing drastic, but a nice subtle difference, I feel a bit better then I had. No difference in appetite or weight here.

I take injections every week because of a sun allergy. I give myself the shots. All drugs except controlled pain killers are OTC here in Panama, so I don't need a prescription.

I am skeptical. I believe intake of all the B vitamins needs to remain proportional to avoid other health problems.
