8 weeks and counting.
Well I been on LCWOL for 8 weeks now.
Ive slowly added some carbs back in. and my weight loss has slowed but i added in 5 days of cardio and some weights. Weight loss is at about 1 pound a week. I guess I cant complain. If I knocked my carbs back down to 20. and started eating just chicken and eggs and jello again im sure I would drop more.. but i still have 4.5 weeks before i leave for vacation and I have 8 pounds to lose. IM starting to have my doubts. And still have one more t.o.m to get through. ARGH I guess If i have to.. I could cold turkey it the week before. Just eggs and meat. to drop a few extra. This will be the last time I will be able to go home for about a few years. I just want people to remember me looking good and healthy! ![]() not flubbery. LOL ![]() SO I hope to drop at least 1.5 pound this week! Ready, Set ! Go!!!

You are doing great! KUTGW and I'm sure you'll keep losing.
What's so magical about losing exactly 8 pounds by the time you go on vacation? Unless there's some kind of mandatory weigh-in ( ) where you're going, who is going to know? At your current rate you'll still be 4 pounds lighter by then, right?Even if you're a really tiny person, nobody is going to take one look at you and say, "Dang, that girl weighs 108 pounds, but shouldn't she be down to 104 by now? What a loser." ![]()

Grace, you're doing GREAT! Stick with it, and remember how much better you feel when you eat this way. Try, as much as possible, to stick to your WOE while you're on vacation. (Trust me, I know that can be hard... but it's worth it!)
The closer you stick to "plan", the easier it will be to get back ON track when you come home, and the better you'll feel about yourself while you're there. Seriously. Yes, you're going to look amazing when you show up -- down almost 30 pounds from where you started. But think how great you'll feel if you actually drop half a pound while you're there??? So don't go into this thinking of the vacation as the big goal, and after that you'll have to start over. Remember your plan while you're on vacation, try to stick to the allowed food-areas, and when you don't, remember the rules for cheating so you can do it without completely shooting yourself in the foot.
Don't be afraid to talk about your new way of eating, either. (Sorry -- I find very little woe in low-carb, so I refuse to use the acronym. :P ) If you say things like "cutting out all sugars, starches, and processed foods", and talk about your better energy levels (and whatever other side-benefits you're feeling), you'll likely get receptive ears. Meanwhile, if you know Aunt Bertha is going to have baked her famous cheesecake for dinner on Saturday... Plan to indulge in a slice. Skip the rice & potatoes at dinner to save room for it. After all, sometimes family courtesies have to be observed. But the more you can minimize the damage at this trip, and TRY to stick to how you eat at home (maybe not the same foods, but certainly the same rules), the better you'll feel and the easier it will be to get yourself to your next goal. |
