I was thinking about making some sun dried tomatoes im my dehydrator with some olive oil, basil, garlic and some salt, But i looked up on the internet that sundried tomatoes have 30 grams of garbs per cup holey moley! Is that true?Itsa shame cause i love them as a snack

It's simply because they're dehydrated and take up less volume. A cup of cherry tomatoes is only 6 carbs before any "shrinking"............

Good Luck,

For cherry tomatoes, I'd count each sun-dried one as .6 grams.

For a medium whole tomato, each is approximately 5 grams.

Good Luck,

this is an issue with any dried fruit too. I once read how careful you have to be, because, for example, someone might eat a LOT more dried pears than they would if the same pears were fresh... you can eat the same serving of tomatoes whether it's dry or fresh. if you normally can eat one small tomato on your woe, then it's one small dried tomato too. not complicated. good luck!
