I quit my diet coke addiction a few weeks ago when I had strep throat. Drinking it hurt, so I quit, and I haven't had one since. I've been drinking tea, sparkling water, and water with lemon juice. I don't think it's made an impact on my weight but I feel a lot better knowing I'm not drinking cans of chemicals anymore.

I have just finished my second week of no DIET COKE after many years of high level consumption. I have quit before but this time I hope to keep it gone. Not interested in anything to take its place outside of water. Do not need to get hooked on a replacement for a bad habit. Has not effected my weight but since I used Diet Coke as a crutch for when I was wanting something sweet it has not been easy restraining my eating and not drinking diet coke at the same time.
But I know I will be healthier without it.

I have to requit Diet pepsi .... thanks for posting this, you have given me the encouragement I so desperately need. I don't even LIKE it that much, sometimes I will be drinking it and think "gosh this stuff is nasty" but I think I am so damn bored of water that I really look forward to drinking something else once in awhile.

I have been having trouble losing weight and it all coincides with when I started drinking diet pepsi again regularly.

I'm not buying myself any more. After these last two pepsis are gone I am DONE! Thanks for bumping up this old thread, I needed to read this today.

I am losing a decent amount of belly fat quite rapidly since dropping all artificial sweeteners. Makes me mad that I didn't catch the connection before. Used splenda since Dr. Atkins was still walking the earth and guiding our fatt butts to slimdom. Didn't seem to bother me, then whammo, on came a bunch of belly fat for no reason 3 years ago. Spent the past two years trying to narrow it down. All that was left was my precious artificial sweeteners. Couldn't be....

Woop there it is.....

I hate middle age.

I now enjoy the small can of the Diet Rite soda (LC approved and sweetened with Splenda) and don't have the cravings anymore. There are some great substitutes out there if you make the switch. I don't know that I could do it cold turkey! Good luck!
What a great idea! I gotta give this a try

The only soda I drink now (occasionally). Excellent product.
