Do you guys ever?

A recent post has inspired me to come to the forums and write up a post about my frustration to this great community. I have been doing great again, exercising losing pounds.. just straight going 'gangsta' on this whole WOE again.

However, today at lunch.. I was eating a pork chop and some broccoli when our Publisher walks in with a tub full of fresh, still hot from the oven, made from scratch chocolate chip cookies. I'd like to state that these aren't your regular chocolate chip cookies, once we had an auction to raise money for cancer and his cookies sold for $60 a dozen.... granted it was a auction to raise money for cancer, however, others were selling for a little of nothing. These things are out of this world.

So I managed myself through that... how I did that I don't know... I think I passed out for a minute or blacked out one... whatever it was, I made it.

Then a co-worker walks in with a big bag of fast food that hit my nose so hard that I about came to tears right there. Hot french fries, burger, rice crispy treat.... it was just brutal.

Then a lady sits down and pours a huge bowl of Raisin Bran cereal, then I started craving cereal and milk... it was just brutal... abso-friggin-lutely brutal.

I am usually ok with others eating whatever infront of me.... I watch my lovely preggo wife eat whatever, drink OJ, milk etc... no problems.... today was a different story... I about lost it all right then and there....

So here I am... ate my pork chop and brocolli, drank my water..... sitting behind my PC talking to you guys lol... no carbs eaten....

Congratulations on resisting all that carbage! I was in a situation yesterday, where box lunches were provided, and I had to leave the room. Sometimes I say a silent prayer, thanking God for my abstinence, which is the most important thing in my life.

After i got back upstairs and realized I made it.. without the carbs, it was a good moment. At the time, I would've slapped a rattlesnake in the face for one of those cookies....

Thanks for the encouragement. We ALL can do this thing...

My problem is after one cookie, I want another-can't stop at one- so I'll eat my way into a carb stupor, and I'm not choosy about the carb. The less food value, the better.

Good for you, Coots.

Oh, boy, I'm going to have to remember that phrase!

You did great!!!!

Someone here has something along the lines of "Nothing tastes as good as losing weight feels" in their signature. So bask in your wonderful willpower and enjoy it when the scale goes DOWN for you!

Just as an update...

I came home and ran the furthest I've ran to date... and fastest...

It's been a good day. When I started this thing, I couldn't even run down my block... now I'm running decent distances.

Today was a good no carb day.

COOTS!!
Guess what! I had to endure a similar situation at lunch today! We attended a staff appreciation luncheon. They had pizza, hoagies, cake, chicken, and salad. I know, that YOU know, what I ate! Chicken and the salad. The pizza looked good but I just said.....(and by the way, I always say this in a bad situation) "Keep your bloodstream clean-keep that fat burning furnace melting the fat away!" One bite of sugar can just destroy all the days of clean eating. Running is awesome!! I ran all last summer and I am going to start training again. I felt better than ever when I ran-it really destroys the appetite, doesn't it?

Well, once the atmosphere changed, I didn't even think about the pizza and hoagies because I know what they do to you! I have found that this works at home also--if you want seconds or if you think you need something sweet, just make a cup of tea and walk out of the room you are in. Even walk outside with your dog. A simple 5 minutes can save the day and make a world of difference! Proud of you today!!! Congrats on soon becoming a Daddy!!

Fan freaking tastic!! Way to go! You know with the WOE you will be faced with these challenges periodically and right now you are setting a precedent with your mind, body, and soul of how you are going to react. It will get easier. Especially since someone forgot to tell you they sneezed in the batter of the cookies and the food handler wiped their behind and forgot to wash before touched the fast food. (That is what I think to myself when I get challenged...)

Wow that is awesome. Congratulations.. I am just getting started after trying this way of eating years ago. Your story has really inspired me. I am so happy for you and pray that I am able to be that strong when temptations like that confront me...Way to go!

Way to go! We all know how hard it can be at times...but the feeling you get knowing you conquered the carb demon is the best! I find that on the mornings after I had a great day, I wake up with a smile.

I'd say "Roll Tide" but my husband went to LSU, so I'll just say Way to Geaux!

You (we) already know what that stuff tastes like, we don't need it. You know what would happen--ya can't stop at just one, it's a cruel joke that food science plays not us, so it's just not worth it.

By the way, it will get easier.

You did FANTASTIC!!! Remember this when the next temptation comes your way - if you got past the cookies (especially the cookies) you can EASILY get past ___________ (fill in the blank). It really does boil down to my line below - "How badly do you want this?" - meaning to lose the weight... You want it BAD and I think that's GREAT! Way to go!!!

2. My WOE is the most important thing....anything it takes, even leaving the room is OK to avoid slipping up.
