My mind hasn't caught up yet...
I was downstairs and decided to weigh myself on the other scale. It was mid-morning so in my mind before I got on the scale I tried to mentally calculate what I might weigh. And I thought "194 is okay because I've already had my coffee." (I usually weigh in early before anything passes my lips, so I was giving myself 2 lbs for the 16 ounces of coffee I drank.)
I got on and it was 162 and I took a second look! I guess my mind has not yet caught up with the fact that I weigh in the 160's now, not the 190's which I weighed in for most of my adult life (with some episodes in the 200 range and some episodes in the 180 range.) It was just so strange that my mind still thinks of me in the 190's. So what about you? Has your mind caught up with your body yet? Do you still automatically look for bigger sizes?

The driver's license thread reminded me of that feeling. I was 265, but I wrote down 250 (I wasn't trying to lie, I sincerely lost track). Whenever I used my ID I was petrified that the person would point and accuse me of fraud. Now the ID is even more inaccurate but I don't mind so much.

Many years ago I had lost a lot of weight but my body image hadn't changed I guess. I remember shopping with my mom and I picked up a shirt and my mom had to point out to me that the shirt was way too big for me. It seemed surreal to pick out a smaller size because I was so used to looking for the largest size on the rack. Can't wait to have that "problem" again

I remember a few years ago (before the lapse i had) i caught a glimpse in my mirror and i honestly thought i was looking at someone else. I didn't recognize me! My mind just hadn't caught up with how different i looked.

lol When I got my name changed after I got married, my license said 100lbs..it was still 100lbs all the way through til last month. I was such a liar. I finally got up the courage to say "Obviously I'm not 100lbs anymore..so can you change that to 150lb?"
That made me even more motivated to get to the point to say.."Obviously I"m not 150lbs can you change it to....(MUCH lower number)?" |

And this morning I learned that the weight of an ipod in the pocket is enough to push my favorite old basketball shorts to my ankles. Mind is definitely not keeping up to date (sorry neighbors).

I'm still having a hard time believing I'm a size 18 now. I haven't been an 18 in 21 years, so looking for that size is beyond weird.
In Old Navy jeans, I wear a 16, which really blew my mind the first time I put those on. I haven't been any form of a 16 since I WAS 16! |

When I did LC the last time I couldn't see what everyone else saw. The scale didn't move much in the end but my clothes were much bigger and falling off. Size 24 to a 14. I look back at pictures and could just kick myself. I was small and just couldn't see it. I heard it takes 6 mo. for your brain to see the "new you"...what do you think about that?

Yeah, I finally had to stop wearing the way too big pants becasue I just looked ridiculous. I'm still a work in progress, but I didn't realize that I did get a lot smaller. I kept thinking when I get to the 160's I'll buy new clothes......well, the 180's made me do that sooner!. My body is a lot smaller! LC is so good.

I remember trying on a size 2 pair of velvet pants and wondering if they made my butt look too big. Lord. Now I am back up to a 12 and can't even imagine how small I was.
