Gain muscle mass after 75

I am a 75 year old guy who had Lap Band surgery a year ago last April, and have come down from 277 to 183. Losing all of this weight has caused lots of saggy skin on my arms and legs. I now ride my bike about 78 -85 miles every week, and was wondering if working out with weights or machines will increase muscle mass to overcome some of the sagging skin?

Stats: 340 then/145 now
WOE: Low carb/calorie cycling
I don't know about gaining muscle mass, but I'm 70 years old, and, as you can see from my stats, I've lost a significant amount of weight in the past few years (I'm female).

I exercised throughout my weight loss, mainly swimming laps, but about 8 months ago, I began strength training, and that has helped a lot with my loose skin. I have muscle definition for the first time in my life, and I'm looking a lot 'leaner.' I will always have some loose skin issues, but the strength work has definitely helped, and I highly recommend it.

Thanks Leo. I will try going to the gym a couple of times a week instead of biking
