An Old Time Back To Atkin's Induction

Hidey-Ho Neighbors!

Well it's time to get serious again! Most of you all know me. Some of you are blessed not to! Haha! I'm a long timer here - doin' my time and mostly behavin'.

I'm starting over with a clean, 2 Week Atkins Induction Challenge to myself and to anyone who wants to climb aboard!!! I'm gonna keep a thread going in the Recipe Help & Suggestion Board here to track progress, post piccys of my food, and put up ****** information on my menus. Maybe that will help some of you who are new to this or who might want inspiration (not that I have much inspiration to provide)!

You can also visit me on my blog for more in depth daily information about how it's going! I am having a give-away at the end of the 2 Week Induction Period. I don't know what that will be yet. I talk about LCF and Atkins over at the blog - but anyone who signs up to follow me, or who is already signed up will be eligible for the give-away. It's kinda loosey goosey right now cuz I don't know how many prizes I will have (at least one, hopefully more!)

************

So here is a little background information on me.

I'm in the Severely Overweight Category on Atkins BMI Calculator. LOL. I have never been more happy to see something like that in my life! I used to be Morbidly Obese! I graduated without even knowing it!

Here are my stats:

Day 1 - April 16, 2012

Weight - 236lbs
Measurements - 42-39-42 (Post double mastectomy, the boobs are expanders filled with 850mL of saline)
FBG - 109
Mood - 9
Pain - 6
Poopy - Yes

I've lost 78lbs as of today. I've been having Ground Hog Day Weight Loss (GHDWL) for the past 4lbs. I average about 232 and I go up or down 4 lbs over and over and over again since I finished my phase 1 Breast Cancer Treatment of Chemo, Surgery, Radiation.

I'm now on a couple of drugs (Femara and Inhaled Steroids) that in addition to my other drugs make losing interesting. But at least I'm not gaining! Most breast cancer patients gain 10-20lbs during treatment and also gain weight on Femara. So far I've lost 40lbs during treatment and have gained nothing, but haven't lost either.

That has to end! Come on Dr. Atkins! Help me out here, buddy. 2 full weeks of clean, by-the-book Induction eating! Come cheer me on, ok?!!! I will try to cheer you on too!!!

Hi Mobear thanks! Yeah, the six month check up is coming up quickly and I'm scared to death about it! *gulp* You know, after you have something like this, every little bump scares the crap outta yas. So far I have 3 areas I want them to feel and check out and I'm just tense waiting it out. It's probably nothing and I know everyone goes through this...Hope to see you over there. Be sure to sign up for the give away at the end of the induction period!

hell yeahs I'm doing the challenge with you. I'm on vacation so I can't promise to check in every day. but the first 4 days of the vac have been a carb slip n slide. by the time I get back home on May 2, I want to weigh less than I did when I left my house on April 12 ...

I may join you about two days late, if that's OK? Had started my own hardcore zero-carb induction this weekend, but have two more heads of hearts of romaine to eat up (I caved; those with Thousand Island dressing and crumbled, crispy center cut bacon are one of my worst weaknesses!) that won't be any good in two weeks.

I am so impressed and proud of you that you've already managed to fight 80 pounds off!! And if you aren't gaining while on steroids, much less steroids with other metabolism-messing medications, you are one powerful, tough woman indeed!
Holding your own is more than impressive and successful on that stuff; don't even worry about losing at this point. You've won so many battles on so many fronts already, and that's just what's indicated in this post!

By the way, I love that you mention the recipes section; I am a total foodie and food nerd, and love menus, recipes, etc. Keep meaning to wander in there and check it out and now you've inspired me to hurry up!

OKAY-I am in....I have been on a sugar binge for weeks now. What will you be eating, maybe if I eat exactly what you do I can knock out the 2 weeks. Feeling like a lethargic gluten! Amy

weight, shmeight!!!

u have been and still are going through quite a rough ride. ATKINS IS great for great health in general. When people came to see him at his center for reasons other than weight problems, they were put on ATKINS post Induction phases plus the necessary targeted nutrition vitamins. Stay in the loop, Pooticus. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Pooti dear friend. I am so happy to see you so upbeat and rarin to go. I've sneaked (or is it snuck) a peek at your menus on the recipe thread. You make induction look like a gourmet dining experience. Like Marge Gunderson I've been trying to do an Atkins 72 zero carb and failing miserably. I think I might just jump on your train. Will I look like afuentes at the end of the two weeks?
Love ya Poot.
