I make coconut bark and use those little "stick" ice cube trays that I got from IKEA - then let 1/2 of a stick dissolve in my coffee for a "coconut-mocha" each morning. Divine!

Was just watching Holmes on HGTV. Someone burned insulation, etc. when they tried to solder some plumbing. When they discovered it and were commenting, they said it looked like they tried to put it out with coffee(coffee dried on plastic in that area). What came to my mind? What would have happened if the coffee had coconut oil in it?! LOL!

We don't have a giant eagle around these parts, sadly too bc they have good sales.

Who is mike? Did I miss something?

Just don't ever forget to pack your VCO in your check on luggage if you are traveling. I almost cried one time that I had to chuck it at the airport. I didn't check it, and it was too late to do that anyway, and they would not allow me to carry it on the plane even though it was in its solid state.
24 ounces of my beautiful Nutiva down the drain.

i use it in my tea twice a day, and if you like yogurt, i make the yocheese from dannon which is drained, i melt a tablespoon or so on the stove, not in a microwave---add in my sweetners, cinnamon etc--pour in the melted CO--and let it settle on top, i make a couple small swirls, and pop it in the freezer and let it harden a couple minutes or so, then stir it up and you have all these little chunks of goodness, i add fruit after i take it out of the freezer, this is so good-----love CO have used it for many years---inside and out

I don't think so. Never tried putting it in liquid though. Coconut oil will melt in your coffee/or tea. I'm not sure Coconut Manna will melt. You might end up with just a blob in your liquid. Sometimes there is oil on the top of the Coconut Manna though so you could use the oil on top. And yes, Coconut Manna/Coconut Butter is good stuff. I can't believe I'm kinda tired of it right now. But eating it almost daily will kinda do that. LOL.

WOE: thru my mouth
Bumping up a little bit older thread.

I just wanted to say that I have noticed something on days that I put the CO in my coffee vs. days I don't.

When I brush my teeth I always use a tongue scraper after I am done. Last week one day I did not have the CO in my coffee and when I used the scraper, I got some coffee colored gunk off of my tongue. The next day I DID have the CO and the scrapings were clear. I did a test for a few days. Same results. It seems as if the CO is keeping my mouth cleaner and maybe keeping my teeth from any staining from the coffee?!

Two things I've been meaning to try forever with coconut oil, since it's great in coconut bark:

1.) adding it to stir-fry
2.) adding it to coffee.

I've done the former via coconut spread (0 carbs - not to be confused with coconut butter even though the spread is like butter, ha!), and absolutely loved it. I find it easier to handle. Now I'm fully inspired to finally get around to trying the latter - so thank you.

I love virgin organic coconut oil and coconut butter, so I was really excited to try that coconut spread. I was very unhappy to find canola oil listed in the ingredients, so I didn't buy any.

If you see the spread in any different brands, let me know! I'm always open to trying out new ones.

I get the one that doesn't taste like coconut, can never find EVCO ... but I love it in my coffee, by the spoon, and am making the coconut oil bark today.
