burgers at in and out

if you order a "flying dutchman" at in and out burger, you get two meat patties sandwiching two melted cheese slices for $2. a double double (same patty and cheese situation) "protein style" is $3.25! that's a lot for a lettuce wrap, in my humble opinion...

they will also give you tomato slices free with the flying dutchman.

Love my double double protein style... I splurge on the onions, small smear of sauce and leave the tomato off. Yum, what a treat!!! I might have to have that for breakfast on Saturday!!!

If you want a treat, do a search on the net for The Ultimate In-N-Out Secret Menu, or just In and Out and you'll find that one. The story is pretty funny and tells all the combinations and names of the burgers and things, and there's a slide show of all of it too.

Thanks for this ravenrose!
I always order it protein style.
It will be the flying dutchman for me from now on!
I wonder why it is called the "flying dutchman"?

Pity, there is none near me.

The only "flying dutchman" I have access to is the same name opera by Richard Wagner (NO COMPLAINTS), unless you want to count my neighbor, Andries van der Meer who leaned too far out the window. However NYC is not without ample burger opportunities. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

I will try that. I usually get a double double protein style with mustard and no special sauce or ketchup. I like the lettuce wrap as the lettuce is super fresh.

So, am I to understand that the burger wrapped in lettuce is 1.25 more?

In that case I'll stick w Carls jr....anyway last time I was in CA, we stopped at In/Out and I had a terrrible tummy ache all day. Bummer.

Carls Jr. is pretty good and more filling. You won't need a double double, but there's nothing like an in n out (unless the line's too long). I'm lucky (?), I have them both within a mile of each other... I try REALLY hard not to go to either one but about once a month.

Loooove In n Out! I haven't been in a while. Good to know about the Flying Dutchman though! No sauces or anything? Do I have to have them leave anything off?

Carl's Jr. Low carb 6 Dollar burger is awesome with no tomato and ketchup, but adding blue cheese and bacon. mmmm
