85% Cocoa

I've been eating two squares of 85% cocoa almost every days since starting LC on Monday... do you think that it will hinder my weight-loss? I don't plan on weighing myself for at least 3 more day, but hope to wait until the 2 week mark. Two squares have 7.5 carbs and 3g of fiber, so 4.5 net. Is that reasonable? It really keeps me on track and helps me from eating carbs/crap. Thanks

I would try to do two weeks of clean eating before adding chocolate, to get rid of the sugar cravings. Theres not much but theres still raw sugar in that chocolate.

Since you are just starting out, ketosis should be in effect. You should try gradually reducing the amount until you feel you no longer need it daily. Every once in a while is ok.

What is coconut bark? I have unsweetened cocoa powder. I don't want/like to have any artifical sweetners... are those included in the bark?

I microwave coconut oil and mix in cocoa powder, then whatever else I want. Protein powder
Peanut butter
Unsweetened coconut
ground Flaxseed
Chopped or whole nuts
All of the above..

I sweeten with sweet and low, but whatever you use, your choice.
Spread it out on parchment paper on a pan in the freeze...
There are lots of different recipes here you can search for.
What sweetener is in what you are eating?

The ingredients for the chocolate I'm eating now is: chocolate, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, demerara sugar, bourbon vanilla beans. Made by Lindt. It take me almost 1/2hr to eat my two squares. I like it. At first it was super bitter, but now I savor it

It's your personal choice, but anything with added sugar is not good every day IMO.

World Market actually has 99% cocoa bars that I get and it's a regular size bar like the one you are talking about, but in 1/2 of the bar, yes I said 1/2 of the whole bar, it's got 210 calories, 14g carbs, 7g fiber, and only 1g sugar. And let's face it, you aren't going to eat a whole bar, so you can figure out the carbs accordingly, and the sugar would be only a trace.

I agree. I don't think an occasional piece of your 85% will hurt you but you should give yourself a chance to rid your body of all sugar first. You will find (at least I did) that you need the chocolate much less often. I still have some that I make myself the week before my cycle.. because I truly need a treat then but IMO you should do a clean induction for at least 2-3 weeks before thinking about your chocolate treat *smile*.

I make chocolate bark with 100% raw dark cocoa powder and chopped almonds with a bit of coconut added to the CO with a few drops of stevia. I make it REALLY dark with lots of the cocoa. It's amazing and beats any other chocolate I have ever bought.
