I used to only be a Jay Robb girl, but damn, it's so expensive for such a small container.
I tried Syntrax and now it's all I will use. The carbs in vanilla are 0, and my body reacts to it as such. Maybe because it is sweetened with sucralose and Jay Robb is sweetened with Stevia? IDK but I'm a Syntrax Nectar convert. I got Vanilla because I like a neutral flavor for baking and protein shakes. I can flavor it however I want. I pay $34 for a huge container at my local health food store. I love the stuff.

I have only tried the one called (I think) vanilla bean torte. It was good, just extremely sweet. If you are used to something more along the lines of Jay Robb, it is too sweet most likely. Have not tried the cookie flavor.
I am super curious but afraid of these other flavors like fuzzy navel and crystal waters because I can't imagine mixing it with something creamy. Does it taste good that way? I picture more of a protein water which makes me gag. |

I've only tried twisted cherry so far - it sort of reminds me of twizzlers. It's quite sweet but dissolves very quickly.
I ordered Roadside lemonade and vanilla bean torte today- and only saw that they had the double stuffed cookie once I checked out (I actually feel compelled to order the cookie flavor as well as the chocolate truffle anyway). I'm also trying out a new recipe- I took a couple servings of the twisted cherry, added about 1/2L water and some gelatin- am hoping I will have a nice protein rich jell-o like concoction to have as a snack tomorrow. Charski - what does the Fuzzy Navel taste like? Slo02eee - While it wouldn't be top of mind for me to mix the kool-aid like cherry flavor with anything creamy, it might actually be nice. A cream soda of sorts? |

I love this stuff, I just got the vanilla bean and omg- with some almond milk in a blender it tastes like those Carnation Instant Breakfasts drinks I used to love!
here's my review- Chocolate Truffle: great, a staple, I always add extra cocoa powder, but this tastes like I could eat it right out of the jar Vanilla Bean Torte: delicious, and very sweet. normally I add Torani to my shakes, but I didn't need to, blending it with almond or coconut milk is divine! Fuzzy Navel: this is a refreshing change of pace, it's tasty, more peachy than orange, and I found it to get more foamy when blended than the others Latte: meh. not as much coffee flavor as advertised, not my favorite, I'll stick with the other flavors. |

Thanks for the reviews, Domesticbliss! I've tried quite a few different protein powders and never found a latte/cappucino flavor i liked. I prefer to throw some instant coffee in a vanilla shake
Mary - what other flavours have you tried? |

Then I bought one of the "trial" packs so I could taste different flavors (I think we tried lemonade, something "blue", cappucino, chocolate, and vanilla) and DH really like the Cappucino, so we bought that, and mainly mixed it with cold leftover coffee, or diet cola We have been buying the vanilla now because we can really switch up the flavors. I still mix it with diet sodas, like diet Dr. Pepper, diet orange, diet cola. I also use coconut milk, PB2 (from Netrition) & SF chocolate syrup....to make a peanutbutter cup tasting drink. Some days I mix it with cold coffee, and add other flavors to suit my taste that day. Usually I keep it simple and just gulp it all down......I like the taste, so don't require a lot of "recipes" or added things to change the texture or taste

I "de-Fizz" the soda a little by just pulsing it in the blender a couple of times (with the blender lid partially open) before adding the protein powder. DH always adds a little ice to his, but it's plenty cold enough for me using sodas from the fridge. You could use a whole can (I do) or less if you prefer.......guess I'm lazy so just dump it all in.

shame on me!
shame on me for not reading the label properly on the double stuffed cookies syntrax- this morning i had a look and it says 1 cabr/serving. I though, OK.
BUT syntrax states the nutritional values per quarter scoop! This means, that one scoop of this deliciously stuff weighs in at a whooping 4 carbs!!!! I feel like a total idiot a) for not realizing this sooner and posting how great this stuff is and b) for being about to toss out a nearly full container of the (evil, delicious) stuff. *sigh* |

OK, I tried it and it's heaven in a cup...I am hooked. When I bought it the guy said it was better than 100 percent whey isolate because it metabolizes slower...Any opinions on this from anyone.

Agree. As long as you're not overdoing it, and it doesn't stall you, I would not throw it away. You can always try a less carby one next time, but it seems like people have trouble finding one they enjoy. I would just embrace the deliciousness |

Hi! Has anyone used the Nectar products during induction? I really need some quick and easy snack options (I'm a teacher, and I'd probably get trampled if I pulled out any actual food during class) and I'm thinking some of the nectar products mixed in a water bottle would be great, but I'm afraid they'd stall me during induction. I'm not following induction to the very letter, but I am using it as a guideline and keeping my carbs under 20, so I'm just wondering if people used this while actively losing weight? Thanks so much!

I have a question!! I just purchased the Syntrax Nectar chocolate truffle and the vanilla flavored one.... And I was looking at the nutrition label and they both say 1/4 scoop per serving for 0 carbs... So if I'm using an entire scoop how many carbs are actually in it? I'm so sad b/c I actually thought I have finally found an amazzzzing protein drink for 0 carbs. =( Oh and one more question how would I exactly measure 1/4 scoop?

Some of the syntrax nectars are 1 scoop 0 carbs but the majority like the fuzzy naval, chocolate truffle, vanilla bean and others are only 1/4 scoop for 0 carbs... And then with that you only get about 6g of protein instead of the 24g/23g they advertise.
I need to start reading things more carefully... |

my understanding is that if the carbs in a serving are under .5 they can legally label it as having zero carbs, so this might be a ploy to still keep that zero carb label to trick people! So, one scoop might actually be closer to 2 carbs. It's still not a lot, and they are delicious, but when you're keeping your carbs under 20 every carb saved counts. Plus, it just seems dishonest. Maybe I'll reconsider purchasing them.
