Can you smell sugar in food?

This may sound weird. I can smell sugar in high carb food. My daughter was eating pizza at Chuck E. Cheese's yesterday and I could literally smell the sugar in it.

Maybe I'm a weirdo but I seariously think it's the sugar I'm smelling.

I can smell when my son has been at my mother in laws because she gives him all kids of sugary treats. I can "smell" the sugar on him afterwards. Not sure if it is the same... Or maybe it's just the processed chemicals I smell?

I can smell sugar in certain foods, for sure!

I can smell doughnuts from the close by doughnut factory and is smells 'sugary' for sure.

I can smell if cotton candy is being made within 10 miles of me lol. I love the stuff and the smell just makes me crave it like mad. No other sugary foods do that.

Sugar definitely has a smell, especially when it's carmalized. I can smell sweets in the office kitchen from 15 feet away. The best part about ketosis is that is not a pleasant smell for me anymore. I'm wondering how anybody can eat that stuff.

well this is different. Yesterday I could smell popcorn thru a plastic bag.
But i was hungry, maybe thats why.
