Diet and exercise hurumph.
2 weeks unable to do serious work out
2 weeks eating still low carb but wheat, and elevated calories. No weight gain. so I go from riding my bike 100 miles a week to sitting on the couch with back pain. eating mostly what I want and no fricking weight gain. of course for the month before I am killing myself reduced calories, extreme low carb, and exercising my ass off and no weight loss. in other words I actually am powered by solar power and air. the food is just something I do because I am used to doing it. it has no bearing on my weight ![]() |

let me put the scope of my confusion in perspective.
I have cheated my arse off the past two weeks. my wife bought some more white chocolate melts again I ate a pound of them. I have eaten at golden coral 3 times in the past two weeks Chinese buffet Burger and fries. Cheerios for breakfast with milk. Sams club hot dog combo with bun ketchup lunches cheese balls and the list goes on. no exercise due to pain. and no weight gain. the list actually goes on but it is perplexing. |

Ha, ha! It is a puzzle, isn't it? I would certainly be gaining though if I were not watching everything I eat.....I just don't lose.

I hope you feel better soon! Sometimes that happens because your body is processing the crap better since you were doing so well before. I have done that in the past. It catches up though, usually takes me a month of crappy eating and then I see the weight gain

I haven't cheated this time around (although I've overdone the nuts on occasion), but several years ago when I did low carb and lost beautifully but failed to maintain, I cheated for a couple weeks and didn't gain anything - at least for the first couple weeks. Then all of a sudden, the weight appeared overnight. I had been kidding myself if I thought it wasn't going to happen. By then it was too late - it took me years to get back on the wagon. The same way you can do everything right and not lose for a couple weeks, you can do things wrong and not gain for a couple weeks. But in my case, it eventually caught up with me.

It must be something about being male vs. female. I go off plan for more than two days in a row and I put on weight. My husband last ate a strict low carb diet over a year ago. He is eating "lower" carb now only when I make him eat the exact same meal as I do. (But then he has a few chocolate chip cookies for dessert!) He lost 25 pounds from that last diet and has not put it back on. He hasn't worked out more than once in the last month and has not put on a single pound. I work out every other day!
How unfair is that!? I'm quite sure it will catch up with him...especially now that he's 40 *gasp*...

Perhaps your body is using these extra calories to fuel the repair of your injury?
