What is your blood type?

I've once again been looking into blood type foods and which ones to avoid. Just for reference I'm a type O and low carb is perfect for O's. What I wonder is are there any type A's that are doing well with low carb (since what works best for that type blood is a vegetarian diet). Just curious....

My blood type is A Positive, and doing great on low carb, (always have). According to the Blood Type Diet I'm supposed to be eating mostly vegetarian and did it for 6 months and became very ill.

I personally don't put much creedence into the blood type diet anymore. I think our Metabolic Type is a more accurate way of finding out what types of food are better for us to eat. I'm a Protein Type. My husband is a Mixed Type, and my friend is a Carbo Type and does better with hardly any meat.

Type O is the protein diet. More people are type O. Therefore the blood type diet works for most people who try it because, as we know, LCHP works.

I'm type A blood, and I tried following that diet for about six months, several years ago. It was the single worst diet I've ever done in my life, and I've done vegetarian and macrobiotics and a number of crazy things! The type A diet has the same problem as those, plus a lot of soy products, and I think that's what really did me in. I was sick as a dog on that diet.

I'm low-carb now and I've never been healthier or happier.

ETA: not all vegetarian diets are crazy, and I don't mean to make blanket judgments. The way I did it was crazy! I was constantly hungry for sweets, and believed they were healthier than meat, so I ate them. Now that's crazy!

I'm hearing more and more that vegetarian diets make people sick, I was a vegetarian for 4 years when I was in my early 20's and it didn't seem to bother me. I then switched to the typical American cruddy diet and gained weight so went low carb, felt great but guilty about all the critters I was eating so went vegetarian (Weight Watchers vegetarian) again for a year and a half, felt okay but not as good as low carb, am now switching over again to low carb and know I'll feel so much better.... My sister has been vegetarian since she was 15 she is now 41 and she has developed Hashimoto's disease as has my non vegetarian sister who in addition has thyroid issues, they both love their carbs and have both gained quite a bit of weight they don't want to hear about low carb. My one sister that lives by me loves to pick on whatever I'm eating even though I've lost weight and she hasn't. *sigh*

I've picked through my blood type list of beneficial and neutral foods and will concentrate on only the lowest carb foods from those lists, I'll give it a shot, can't hurt....

AB+ here, too! I looked at that diet, and if I remember correctly, it suggested that I eat a lot of seafood. Well, I hate seafood, and am very allergic to salmon. That didn't make any sense to me. I'm glad I've stuck with low carb.

O- here, and I did poorly on low carb and felt poorly on low carb.

If there's anything to that blood type concept, I don't think the connection is very strong.

I am not convinced that there is anything to the blood type diet, but I find blood types fascinating! Especially being a rare one, knowing that ABs did not exist until quite recently in human history!

A-positive and struggling on LC. Feel like poo lol..

I couldn't do the blood type diet as I don't eat whole grains (gluten intolerant) and couldn't live on veggies alone.

A+ here. I used to be vegetarian in my 20's. It was fine then.

After about age 35 and after three babies, I couldn't go back to the veg diet, I just felt ill and tired all the time.

It takes a lowcarb diet for me to feel normal; good sleep, good energy and normal appetite.

Vegetarian lowcarb here - for 8 years. Vegetarian for a total of 30+ years. Healthy throughout. Lowest triglycerides my doctor "ever saw on a human being" - he attributes to being vegetarian for so long.

B negative blood

That blood type diet always struck me as, well ... uhhh, horse puckey.
