Dizzy spells - anybody else having these?

I've noticed lately when I stand up I get a little dizzy. I'm guessing it's a low blood pressure type deal. I don't remember having them in the past this often though. Is this a "side effect" from weight loss? Anybody else having these?

I'm also getting more cold-natured which means we are saving elec right now with this HOT wave.

that has happened to me in the past before. try drinking a cup of full sodium chicken broth twice a day or eating half an avocado. i know both of these help me!

Yes, when I've been bending over. Don't know what causes it but it does go away almost as fast as it comes on.

I've been getting this too. I especially notice it when I am laying out at the pool and then stand up to hop in the water. So I know it has something to do with the heat. Maybe I am getting dehydrated.

I've had this to varying degrees since I started LC in May, it's quite annoying. I play with salt and potassium supplements, and have felt better as time goes on. This stinking heat isn't doing any of us any favors tho is it? ACK!

This has been happening to me lately and I ran it past my doctor the other day. He said to make sure I'm drinking enough water/fluids and that dehydration is a probable cause.

Yes, but only when I've been sitting/lying for a long time and stand up quickly. I have noticed there haven't been any the past few days, but can't pinpoint why!

I can't pinpoint when mine started - whether it's heat related - cuz man it's HOT! I'll try the suggestions and see what happens. If not, I'm willing to get up "slower" and hold on to something until the room stops swaying.

Michelle - I feel for you! I don't know your age but a few years ago I had an outpatient procedure that made TOM very light for me. The hormone roller coaster still goes crazy but that procedure saved my sanity.

Kateee that would be great! I was shocked when the dr. took my Mom off Metformin. I guess I thought she would have to always take it. But Mom had lost a lot of weight and now manages her diet so much better.

Totally agree with this. The heat takes a lot of water out of us, even if we aren't visibly sweating. I always drink more *ice cold* water in the summer, usually about 50% more than my normal on really hot days. The ice will lower body temp which in turn prevents excess water loss.

Add a pinch of Celtic Sea Salt to your water throughout the day! Clears the dizzies right up!
