A slow loser, one year later

Hi everyone,

I just realized it has been over a year since I restarted Atkins. I'm a slow loser, but stuck with it. For a while, I was a little lax, and went into maintenance mode. Anyway, here's the slow loser one year later, down 50 lbs and now a "healthy weight" according to BMI. I still have a little weight to lose, but I'm happy with what I've achieved so far. From obese, through overweight, to healthy weight in a year.

Stick with it!

Congratulations! What a wonderful story. So many of us here are slow losers, or were while we were struggling to lose weight, so seeing another who was able to accomplish that weight loss over the course of a year is inspiring and holds out hope for everyone else. Thanks for posting.

Congrats - thanks for posting. It's a good reminder that we're not in a race. I get impatient sometimes with slower losses this time around since I lost much more quickly the first time (was more than a few years younger).

How wonderful, Emily! I've always wished I were a hare, but sometimes we tortoises do "win the race"!

Thanks!

I think it's helpful to remember to look at the long term. Even slow losers or less-than-perfect adherents to the plan can still have good results.

Congrats, and thank you so much for posting this!

It's a marathon for many of us, and not a sprint. Good to be reminded of that.

Another thanks for posting - if we can lose 1lb a week, that's 52lbs in a year - which would suit me just fine! Well done you!
