What portion of chicken wings for yourself?

When you fix chicken wings for a meal, how many wing 'sections' do you prepare just for your own portion of the meal? I'm talking about if you don't have a lot of other things prepared to eat with the meal.. but instead, the meal is basically just wings.

I'm not the best example - I don't care for chicken wings that much. I eat maybe 4 wing sections - and always with a little side. Now, for the 5 of us (3 of which are kids under 10) we make 30 WHOLE chicken wings - meaning 60 pieces when separated and all 60 are gone by the time we are done. With me eating 4 - maybe 5 - you do the math. My kids and dh adore wings.

Depends..how hungry am I?

My kids love hot wings so I always have to make a bunch. The most I ever ate I think was 12 sections. Yeah...I can put it away sometimes.

4 most of the time. That would be 8 pieces. That is all we usually eat when we have wings. DH will just ignore any side I make so I just don't bother. DH will eat at least 12, or 24 pieces most of the time.

I normally eat 5 WHOLE wings, so 10 sections, but if I am really hungry I will eat 10 - 12 WHOLE wings, so 20 - 24 sections

6 to 10 sections (3 - 5 whole wings) for me. There was a time I could eat more at a sitting but since my stomach has shrunk so much, no way any more

I've never tried to make them, but when we go out for them I can usually take down a full order of 12 (drums and flats) on my own. Sometimes a small side salad, but usually not.

Now you've got me thinking about wings!

Usually six to ten. But I only like the flat part, the 2nd joint, and save all the drummy parts for great chicken broth.

Come eat them at my house! I like the little drumettes best! I'll give you all the 2nd joint flat pieces!

This is going to work out splendidly!

I never make wings at home, as they're something I save for when I go out with friends to watch baseball games. But around here they mostly sell them by either the dozen or the pound. Most often I'll split 3 lbs with a friend, which I think works out to something like 18 wings apiece. I figure it to be about ~900 calories, and thus half of my intake for the day. I have to plan ahead so I don't wind up overeating.

Around my area you order usually by the pound. The average is 8 per pound. So 4 full wing, split to 8.

I eat 2lbs a week no problem. I will not eat any sides with them when I have wings.

Im getting hungry!!!!

After reading what y'all eat, I'm not sure I want to post mine, but here goes. I usually eat around 10-15 wings (drums and paddles...so 20-30)...and my belly doesn't even feel 'stuffed'. I stop because I've had enough, but I seriously could still put away another 10 whole wings.

I TOTALLY LOVE chicky wings...hubbby likes the flats, I like the drummies.
We will get 40 pieces...so that's 20 each, so 10 whole?
If we do that, the only side we usually have is celery & blue cheese to dip.

10 pieces is my current serving. A year ago it was 15, 6 months ago it was 12, now it is 10. I love both the drummettes and the flats, but they must be CRISPY!

Hi there,
I make enough for the week on sundays. I can usually eat only 3-4 sections at a time . but, if I don't get enough fats, I eat about 6 sections =3 whole wings.
When I get enough of fats in my daily diet , I can't eat too many .Omg !, I love the things esp. the hotwings. In the very beginning I could woof down a whole dozen at one sitting . Not so any more .I buy 2 -10lbs bags at a time , split them into dozens and freeze. I pull one and marinate , bake off and enjoy.

Portion size depends on if I am having a side with them. Yesterday I had green beans as a side and ate 5 pieces. If I have just wings, I usually eat 8 to 10 pieces.

I prefer going to a restaurant and having them made there. I requested the nutritional information for Buffalo Wild Wings and each sauce has its own carb. I stick with the medium/traditional sauce. For 6 wings they use 1 oz. of the sauce which equals 2 carbs. I will order 12 wings so that equals 4 carbs.

I did the same exact thing. They had all of that in a 3 ring binder. They were very helpful.
