Anyone low-carbing and eating ezekial bread? if so, what kind are you buying? do you find it stalls you?

It doesn't stall me but I don't buy it much because it's so pricey.

I've had it before, but I'm saving it either for very late in the OWL or maintenance. It is expensive relative to regular whole grain bread, but I'm not going back to eating sandwiches every day. It will just be something I have now and then.

I buy it every now and then when I'm really craving a grilled cheese or something, but the price keeps from making it a staple.

One of my cravings that just won't let go is bread or even worse, sub or hoagie rolls. I tried other LC bread alternatives and they just don't cut it. But the Ezekiel Bread does! I think it's the 'chew' or texture.
Since I live alone, and only do it a few times a week, I do buy it and use it to make a cheesesteak for myself. It is expensive and I had to get over 'sticker shock' in a big way. If it wasn't such a wonderful trick to keep me from going off plan I'd never pay that much for one loaf, but since it's a lifesaver for me, I consider it like medicine that's helping me get healthy so I pay the price. To me it's worth it.

thanks guys! i think i m gonna try it in moderation. Do any of you fine low carb friends have a favorite? I keep hearing about this really low carb type in a pink (?) package- but the only one i keep finding that ressembles it is 12-15 grams a slice- i really want to get the lowest carb option of them- any suggestions?

did i mention you guys are terrific??

I've only ever used the one in the orange wrapper. I also haven't found any of their other products in any of the stores. I had to get over the apprehesion of the carb count. It has no stall effect on me, no matter the count. The orange wrapper is not the sesame bread.

I keep a loaf in the freezer and will ocassionally toast a slice for breakfast. I prefer the sesame because of the taste and it has a slightly higher protein, lower carb. The market from which I buy it, tho' can't seem to keep any of the bread on the shelves...course they're not stocking that much...

Have you tried Trader Joe's Sprouted Grain Bread? Not as pricey as Ezekial and only 4 net carbs per slice.
I turned my parents on to this bread and they love it. They don't low carb, but still eat this bread exclusively.

What about WASA crackers? I use those sometimes when I am craving a tuna sandwich or even cream cheese with some roast beef!

Cybros breads also make very good sprouted grain breads that usually come in around 4 net carbs. Very good! You can find them at some stores in the mid-west and online.

I don't have a Trader Joe's near me but I think there might be one near my DD 2 1/2 hours away. I'm going to check since I keep hearing great things about their sprouted grain breads!

At the risk of hurting your feelings, I think it's a bit early in your journey for the addition of bread. The one thing you will notice is those who have had great success have added these types of foods (if at all) very late in the OWL game.

I just don't want you to be disappointed.
