The benefits to being sick

So I had a spike in weightloss this week due to not being able to keep anything down which led to a decrease in apetite. Very torn as I'm starting to feel better. I figure if I can just keep myself horribly ill for another 2 months or so I'll reach goal at an awesome pace. If I can only endure the misery associate with being ill...

Ok I jest... a little. Anyone had any success harnessing the decreased appetite from being sick into something constructive? I'm fighting the urge to binge my way back to my 5 lost lbs.

Hope you are better very soon. If you want to maximize your loss of apetite, I would suggest just keeping your carbs low. Having said that, I doubt there is much you can do as likely it is mostly water weight and that as we all know, will rebound with a bit of hydration. Anyway, much better to feel better!

I have used illness to advantage before. I just keep my portions very small so as not to get into old habits.

Yeah its curious the whole sick weight loss, I'm sure a lot of it is water. I've been sweating like a husky boy in PE and had fluctuating temperatures. A body sitting at 103 degree temperature has to burn more energy to achieve that temp I would imagine tho.

I've had friends not doing lc who have lost over 10 pounds when sick, which motivated them to start a "diet" and they managed to keep it off.

Have you tried some broth? Your body is probably craving food to make up for your "fast" when you were ill. So I guess I'm with Ravenrose; more fluids, and probably salty ones at that.

Yeah I'm still a little sick, very clammy and sweaty. Lost 8 pounds this week now. My appetite has come back a little. I've been drinking a ton of 0 cal gatorade knock off drink so its got all the electrolites(sp). I actually feel a lot worse whenever I eat food. Breakfast goes ok but lunch I get ill and dinner keeps comming right up. Least I dont feel like the living dead anymore.

Ha thanks Rin I thought that was particularly amusing if I do say so myself.
