Where to buy Glucomanan Powder and Erythritol?
Howdy! Just wondering where everyone buys theirs? I would prefer to buy locally as opposed to online, probably saves a little money. :P But everyone keeps talking about Glucomanan!

I've seen Erythritol at Whole Foods and in some Krogers. You will probably find that you get a better deal online. Its about 15 bucks at Krogers for tiny little packages. Forgot how much at Whole Foods, but it was more.

on the other hand, edens, Netriton DOES sponsor this site... think about it.
the shipping is 4.95, but their prices are usually cheaper than stores. the erythritol is da bomb, but the glucomannan is interchangeable with guar gum or xanthan gum which are pretty easily available. |

Thanks! You know, I've never seen guar gum or xanthan gum in stores, either? lol

I've gotten Xanthan Gum at Kroger as well. But again, its cheaper online. You can find some of these items at some grocery stores but I doubt it will be cheaper since there probably is not a high demand from the average consumer.

I searched online and then followed it up w/ placing orders. There are sometimes local health food stores, or whole food types which will carry some, but generally not in the sizes or quantity I want/need. And their prices can sometimes be what I call "Please hold a pistol on me while I pay for this…I'll feel better about giving you all my money" |

I've been on the site for about 5 years now (I lurked before becoming a member) and just did my first order last month. Shipping was super fast, prices were better than what I could find on Amazon or locally, and they included a few freebies in my order. I can't believe it took me so long to order from them and am already planning my next order ![]() |

Is gluc powder in capsule form, or powder form? Sounds like a silly question but when I checked locally, they said it was in capsule form and that I could open them up and use them in food.

I have read that the gluc powder in capsules is pretty grainy and not equal to the powder that is bought as such.

Yep, Dawn, lol. I only checked one place, but it's safe to say Netrition is the way to go! Now we need a gluc powder thread on all the uses of this magic stuff.

I live near the best stores in my city, but those things are hard to find unless I travel to the smaller co-ops where they will not be cheap. |

The best bet is online because from a reputable dealer, as most just put out generic garbage with fillers whenever a product takes off!

I now buy my glucomannan from Netrition.
I disagree with the comment above about gluc being interchangeable with xanthan or guar gum. Glucomannan has much different properties than either of those in some applications, especially anything other than baked goods, but I still prefer the gluc for that. Now in homemade ice cream I prefer xanthan but as for thickening soups or gravies it's way to slimy. |

I've seen erythritol at Wholefoods and Sprouts. The ones at WF were very expensive, but Sprouts had Now brand for around $8.

The best gluc esp. for noodles is netrition which is the same as konjac foods. There is a HUGE difference in properties between Xanthan and Guar gum and gluc powder
especially for certain uses . Some brands of gluc also have more carbs than others. Shipping from netrition is $4.95 for your entire order and their prices are quite good. |
